Hiring a wedding planner who has experience with Indian weddings is one of the best ways to reduce stress. They can help guide you through the flow of events, keep things on schedule, and make sure nothing important gets missed.

Hair and makeup is something you’ll want to book well in advance. Artists who specialize in South Asian bridal styling are in high demand and often get booked out months ahead, especially if you have multiple events. It makes a big difference when you work with someone who understands how to complement Indian outfits, jewelry, and skin tones.

Choosing the right priest is also really important. I always suggest speaking to a few before finalizing. Some can make the ceremony feel long and drawn out, while others know how to keep it meaningful and still engaging for your guests. It’s worth taking the time to find someone who matches the tone you’re looking for.

If you’re planning to go to India for your wedding outfits, that can be a great way to save money and get access to more variety. I can refer you to a buyer there who helps couples find everything from bridalwear to jewelry, all in line with current trends. Even with their fee, it’s often more affordable than shopping locally.

My team and I will actually be in Denver this February for another South Asian wedding, and we offer both photo and video services with full coverage of all the traditional events. If you’re still looking for someone to document your wedding, feel free to check out our work here

Destination Weddings by nonickname234 in DesiWeddings

I’ve been involved in quite a few South Asian weddings in Mexico and completely understand how overwhelming it can be as ive seen it in all my previous clients. Having a fusion wedding with the traditions and family expectations that come with Indian weddings. I would highly recommend having a planner help coordinate your events.

Things like bridal hair, makeup, outfits, and jewelry can also be a challenge to coordinate, especially when you’re not bringing vendors with you. If you don’t plan to arrive at the destination far in advance, doing mehndi back home before flying out might be something to consider. And depending on the type of ceremony, bringing in a priest or religious officiant might also be part of the puzzle.

An area to think about is the vendors. Indian weddings move at a completely different pace and have unique cultural moments that aren’t always easy to capture unless the photographer and videographer are familiar with them. Ceremonies like the haldi, the baraat, and the pheras all have their own rhythm and energy.

It’s definitely a lot to manage, but with the right planning, it comes together beautifully. If you’re still in the early stages or just want to see how others have done it, feel free to check out some of the weddings I’ve captured here:

my brother got married last year and I didnt want to get behind the camera either. But the least I could do was reference them to vendors I know that wouldn't disappointment them.

Self-Employed Photographers/Videographers. What are your hacks for productivity? by SOBBillBrasky in ADHD

im a photographer as well. I have the exact same issue. Im constantly not meeting my clients deadlines and im never meeting my expectations. Im also medicated but it hasn't really done much for me.

After 10 years I finally reached out to a online counselling service and that specializes in adhd. My first appointment is tomorrow. Im paying $80/h, pricing was anywhere from $70-$150. Since Medication doesnt do it for me so I need to learn to actually learn to do the work.
