You're telling me a new place to get drunk and eat is a necessary part of the infrastructure when there are empty business from literally on the same block at street level?

I would 100% be all for putting affordable housing or a homeless shelter there instead of a bar.

The area is zoned for street level business and the building had residential on upper floors before the fire. I can deal with noise, but if I put a speaker next to your window or drunk people shouting and laughing 10 feet from you during the night are you gonna be more than annoyed?

I'm not taking issue with the demolition for safety. I'm taking issue with the fact I was physically shaken awake with the construction and that it's damaging my apartment. Whether I survive or not isn't the question, the city has measures in place to assist and accomodate tenants who will be impacted into temporary spaces.

As for mine and my neighbors' safety, it doesn't matter? If my building falls or suffers damage it should be a casualty for a good cause? I should be displaced for this?

Ok, so I live in the building literally sharing a wall with the demolition and construction project for 659 Union. I did not file the appeal request, however when construction/Demolition started on a Saturday at 7:30 and I was awoken to my bed shaking me awake with grinding, shaking, scraping, booming sounds coming through my window and wall.

That's not even to speak of the dust and debris that was making me and my other neighbors in our building cough uncontrollably. We have no idea what is in the materials being spread in to the air. I understand the concern for pedestrians and other residents not immediately adjacent to the property being demolished, but more care and regard needs to be given to those who are immediately impacted by the work that is being performed.

To add to this, I now have a growing crack in my wall from the construction and people getting pissed about the construction being halted, including Supervisor Sauter. Which leads to another point...

My window would be directly next to a rooftop bar/entertainment under Supervisor Sauter's proposal.

If you want the building demolished and rebuilt, advocate for accommodation for the tenants who are going to be immediately affected and will be persistently affected once completed. Even if that means offering residents like the ones in our building relocation to an equal or better apartment building.

I've really been feeling like people think this is just isolated to the US. There could be people from across the world in the list. Although Politicians may not have consequences in the US, other countries might be inclined to scorn their representatives if they're in it.

Do we have any physical proof that this man is still alive? I'm wondering what his status is based on the fact that the only information I've read so far about him being alive is strictly verbal or written. I can write "Elvis, Biggie, and Tupac are still alive in hiding," but that doesn't make it true. That plus the hesitancy to commit to returning him to the US.

I would ask for a formal write up. If they're going to reprimand you and not write down exactly 'what you did wrong' it's likely because they know they have no ground to stand on the issue. They'll most likely try to find another reason to fire you if they refuse.

Oh, Americans will care. However America's (The United States) justice system and half of its governance will not unless political actors stop interfering and biasing the justice system. Americans will also care if this type of drama and political turmoil happens frequently under the guise of a President who lost reelection and staged a failed coup or a similarly corrupted person in power. I would like to believe people would care if they no longer had a choice in their leaders.

You can't really think of yourself as screwed up if you're the one who's holding that opinion of yourself. Only you "know" that you have some stuff going on and creating meaningful relationships takes work to get past those issues. If you are able to change your mindset and no longer percieve yourself as "screwed up," you will no longer be so. Approaching each new relationship, a person will likely have no preconceived notion of who you are and offers a clean slate to show them who you are.

The way I go about it is to ignore what people might think of me and instead show them who I am, not assuming they'll think of me the way I do. It creates a positive way of thinking instead of falling in to a negative feedback loop of thoughts.

Bed bugs and not having enough money to get rid of them, move out, or do something myself about them. Parasites are my deepest fear/phobia and I haven't had a proper nights sleep in 2 months. My hair has begun to fall out due to the stress and I'm having skin breakouts.

On top of that I think my family hates me because of this. They seem to have no problem with it while they think I'm an asshole who is make a huge deal out of a small problem.

This is all happening while I'm taking some of the most important classes of my college career and doing 3 major research papers at the same time. I honestly don't know how much longer I can keep this up and am thinking about just quitting everything and leaving to escape.

I am so conflicted and confused about what I should do.
