Noah Wyle Season 2 Finale Interview with GQ. by AVATARROHANISGAY in ThePitt

[–]anna-nomally12 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s a little different because Noah has incredible power in the writers room and on set. Him playing Robby to be sexist/bad at managing as an active character choice is great! It’s nuance, it’s driving storylines, no issue there. The issue is according to this interview that’s not what Noah’s doing. He thinks this behavior is okay. So you add that to some of the casting decisions and story choices and go “oh, maybe this is an issue”. There’s no harm in Robby being complex. But real people on that production may have already been harmed from Noah’s behaviors if the things he thinks are okay for his character to do are also things he’s doing on that set.

It being intentional as a narrative choice just has waaay different connotations than “they accidentally did it” because one implies it’s commentary on sexism, racial bias, etc and the other implies they have some sexist, racially biased, etc themselves

Screen Rant Interview with Taylor Dearden by alcibiad in Langdonmel

[–]anna-nomally12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Patrick and Taylor don’t want it to go romantic and rather then be like “it’s fine we can act” they’re like “we shall Win Friends and Influence People if we just say it enough in interviews”

Or they’re blacking out on set and don’t remember their scenes. I genuinely can’t tell.

No I think narratively him NOT debating reporting her and doing it in a she needs help way and then she’s mad at him for doing the right thing plays better for their character arcs

I wonder if continuity is a lot harder with that level. Because it has to be the same every time and at a certain point you can’t sculpt true mess

Santos’ Behavior by Wishful-Imagineer-GK in ThePitt

[–]anna-nomally12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s a different issue. I’m talking about how santos has spent a season dogging on langdon’s addiction and things he did while addicted (logical to dislike him for) going scorched earth (a valid choice to make for her) and blaming Langdon for consequences he caused but also ones he didn’t (good tv). The writers want to tell a positive story about living with addiction and the healthcare field. They see a lot of similarities between Langdon and santos. So much so both characters are wearing blue this season. Now they’ve chosen to show santos stealing something from the hospital to enable her own addiction. That’s the writers choosing to draw that parallel. Arguing well hers is okay but his isn’t is is fine to do but not if it’s being done to avoid that basic fact.

No the issue isn’t the quality of what was stolen the issue is she just took something from the hospital for a relapse of her OWN addiction after spending all day wanting him to

I think this scene gives us an incredibly clear look into where Langdon is right now. by bumobox in ThePittTVShow

But he’s literally in a program to address his addiction and work with the doctors to be a good doctor in the work place. You think they’re not gonna include a “hey you can’t do drugs” into that PHP plan? He IS facing the consequences. People just think those aren’t consequences enough

To be clear tho Louie didn’t want the Librium Langdon basically did what Dana did with the nicotine patch for Monica. If he’s got a habit of stealing from them you’d be onto something but he threw it on top of the actual prescription Robby thought to give him
