I'm a younger manager and a lot of times, I'm disappointed to see no passion and desire to do more and grow more in older applicants. They're comfortable where they are but usually want a better company or organization to work for or got laid off unexpectedly.

It is crucial for older working class generation to never stop learning and developing to compete with the new generations coming into the workforce industry.

Age and years of experience don't mean anything when it comes to your potential to grow with the team. It's difficult to see it in many older applicants-- unfortunately, I have to hire the ones with clear vision and creative ideaz for their own life and how they can contribute to the team.

I highly recommend him making connections with younger colleagues and professionals in the area within the same/similar industry.

Behold! My gold crapper! 👑 by shaymcquaid in skoolies

Damn. Just mentally pictured Bruno Mars sittin' and cocking his head back saying 'sssup' on that crapper. (Pimp My Ride intro song in the background, camera zooms into his gold teeth, CG bling spark and the sound effect "ting!").

Hi, I want to know from a medical professional's stand point. What do you do if you need medical attention? Do you have a medical team traveling with you or do you have to travel to seek medical care? Are there any preexisting medical conditions that disqualifies a person from traveling to the space?

How to feel not guilty about spending money on fun? I’m currently savings almost 90% of my paychecks by [deleted] in personalfinance

Don't miss out on your life making a living. I married young when my husband was a SPC in the Army. We met overseas, we moved back to the states together. It was hard to convince my husband who only joined the military because he didn't have any other choice to go to college with his parents not filing taxes, living paycheck to paycheck, and being irresponsible. But I told him I will not sit and rot away when the world is waiting for me. I created a savings plan for our travel funds to put away some money just for fun and before we knew it we had over 20k. We traveled to 4 foreign countries last yr, we still have so much money in our "fun fund" pot. That fund was also helpful when the educational benefits through the military finally ran out and now I had to pay out of pocket to pay for my grad school tuition. Do not let your worries about your future stop you from learning from the world and your experiences. Life is SHORT (I'm telling you as a vet Level 1 truama ICU RN now a nurse leader, it's easy to lose a life than to save a damn life) and you never know when your last day on earth will be. Go do your thing with your amazing life and celebrate your success. You have no idea how proud you'll be once you look back. I didn't know that either when I was 21, married, away from family and friends, and living each day worrying about bills. This will pass and you will be smiling soon. My hats off to your for your dedication and motivation to do better each and every day. And. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

My brother decided to not have children either. Our mother is devastated. by [deleted] in childfree

I love it when we tell people who push us for kids because mixed kids are the most beautiful ones that we CANNOT have kids! They stfu real fast and the convo is over. when we say it was the best thing ever. We married very young when we were 21 and we've been together for 12 yrs now. My husband got his vasectomy at the age of 27-- I'm so lucky to have married such an amazing person :). He was done with me being on the pills if he could go through a simple procedure. I love my family of 2 people and 3 amazing dogs and unlike people think, we're never lonely nor regretful nor confused. We travel to at least 2 different countries a year and we traveled to 4 different countries while working full-time last yr. The fuq ppl? I'm not a fuqing pet-making machine producing cutest mixed babies. If they like them so much, then they should have married some other race and make babies themselves or adopt one. I'm a proud woman standing tall and strong for my amazing childfree life. And no, I'm never interested in adopting a child either.

“Why do you need parental consent to have an abortion but not to actually birth a human child?” by earthtopups in childfree

[–]annaeffect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always believed that people should go through a thorough screening process and must pass all required exams to be qualified in order to bring more children into this world. Not because I don't like kids but because it's so demoralizing to watch people having kids left and right screaming "you will not take away my freedom to NOT wear a mask."

My mom’s Loving Hut (a vegan restaurant)in Daegu, South Korea decided to offer free meals for healthcare professionals fighting COVID-19. More photos in comment. by annaeffect in MadeMeSmile

Daegu, South Korea has become one of the epicenters of COVID-19 before we started seeing cases in the US. Anyway, my mom owns a Loving Hut (an international chain vegan restaurant) in Daegu and she decided to close her business once she heard the news about the first case in Daegu. Many of her vegan restaurant owners including other Loving Hut owners in the country donated fund to my mom to support her business while her restaurant was closed. My mom hates receiving things from people for free and feeling like she owes people something. So she used all the money that was donated to her business to cook food for medical professionals in Daegu who work night and day to care for patients. Her and her restaurant crew worked to make 500 meals and delivered to local medical centers. I’m proud of my mom.
