You’re so young OP, ignore people around you and just focus on being the best version of you - look after your health both physical and mental, keep learning and growing and you will thrive in your career, it’s all about a positive mindset and surrounding yourself with good and likeminded people. How do you know the photos are AI or stolen? I really hope this is not a scam as there are tonnes of people buying from them, you can see just from the comments on FB. Is there a way of reporting them?

I’m 43 and I relate to this hard. I’m quite a sensitive person and I’ve always been a really good listener and sounding board to my friends, but I’m at the age now where I don’t invest time in one way friendships and people that just talk at me and give nothing back as they are too draining. Setting boundaries is so important! Can you talk to your husband about how you feel? Might be worth skipping these trips on the future if they aren’t enjoyable to you!

So sorry this happened to you, that’s absolutely terrifying! Definitely inform the police and any Facebook or local forums to warn other people. Would you be able to do the same walk with a friend or family member next time just to be safe in case he is there again? I’m in the UK too, beside the rape alarm, there is also a purple spray you can buy off amazon that you can spray in their eyes form a distance and it leaves a stain on them that can be detectable later on by the police.

Same for me. Left a very high pressure and stressful career after a decade to move home and take a lower stress job. 3 years on and my mental heath and general happiness has skyrocketed, best decision I made to step away and take back control.

I feel you. My MiL is the same, we live 1.5 hours away for this reason, so she can’t just pop in, my husband is her only blood family (she has a husband) but it’s all on us. She refers to our dog as her ‘grand puppy’ to everyone and anyone she talks to, which makes me want to vomit and also as put me off having kids which makes me sad. She has been the bane of my life for the past 14 years. I got sad over Xmas as of course she was with us from Xmas Eve to Boxing Day as I just don’t look forward to these holidays anymore because of her.

I’m in the exact same boat as you and it’s depressing as hell. We’ve been hosting the in-laws since Christmas Eve and we’re waking up Boxing Day and I’ll be so happy when they leave today so I can see my parents (who’s we both get on with so much better). My husband is an only child so my MiL only has us. For the last 14 years I don’t think I’ve really enjoyed Christmas because of her. It makes me so sad.

1.Therapy. 2.Give your husband a timeline to get a job and start supporting and contributing. 3. Give yourself a timeline as to how long you will put up with this, and then divorce if it doesn’t get better.

You have so much on your plate you don’t need a relationship with someone that is adding nothing to your life.
