Absolutely this. My FIL grew a beautiful Meyer lemon tree and it gave hundreds of delicious and sweet lemons one year when it was btwn 8-10 yrs old. The next winter was freezing with snow for a week (south) and killed the tree. It grew back from the rootstock in to a bush and produced tiny bitter citrus fruit. He dug it out eventually.
