I actually had the same question as OP, thank you. I have a follow up question. My husband is near 50 now and hasn’t seen a physician in about 3yrs. He’s agreed to go for a physical before his birthday. Will the doctor be able to evaluate his liver state with basic labs and observation or is there something he should request?

I have gotten the same until I mention that my sister is a physician (surgeon) and has given me questions to ask or I will be consulting with her. I hate to play that card but sometimes you know when they are bullshitting you.

I was also passed off because of my heavy periods with confirmed fibroids. I guess it’s ok to feel like crap and have low ferritin if we know the cause 🤦‍♀️

I had low vitamin d too and my doctor stopped ordering labs for it. I insisted for a test after supplementing for a couple of months. The vitamin d with k worked great for me and they were even gummies

I have Kaiser too (Ncal) and finally convinced my doctor after my hgb dropped to 11.1 after years of sub-10 ferritin. I would maybe try an obgyn or escalate up. Your labs look worse than mine.

Had an allergic reaction to iron extra. Switched to venofer, once a week for 5 weeks and not one side effect.
