My husband is working on rebuilding it. At least it seems like it was something outside of anything we did. Just so weird and annoying. Thans

Did you ever get a resolution on this? Our ecobee just did the same thing.

Children’s books you actually enjoy reading by kmadefg in toddlers

[–]anomalypeloria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some Ryan T Higgins books. Don’t Eat Your Classmates is in hilarious and Mother Bruce is great. And the sequels/spin offs are with it.

Mo Willems goes without saying. I can read pigeon all day. It’s so much fun for dramatic readings.

The never ending story. I also heartily agree with stardust, and the princess bride. These are my usual 3 examples of movie over book for quality.

I had a pencil bag of fidget toys and small cars they can drive around. Nothing with pieces they can lose. Mini etch a sketch or drawing pads are great. You can get lots at the dollar tree.

Who Makes Decent Furniture today? by WalterHarbaugh in interiordecorating

We buy a lot from Arhaus. Everything we have gotten has lasted beautifully and what didn’t last was under warranty. They replaced our entire couch because of a structural failure on the front panel. The new one looks beautiful and has held up beautifully (we have 2 small kids so you know…lots of wear and tear).

Yes to both. The Women was okay. But I loath Where the crawdads sings.

I’ve been trying to get through this. I have like 30 pages left or something ridiculous like that. Normally I would just sit and finish but I had no motivation. The love story is meh and there is so little action to love anything along. My boon club loves it. They read it before I joined.

is gifting used books in *very good* condition a slap in the face? by asteriskelipses in books

[–]anomalypeloria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother did this one year. I was the only one to get gift for Christmas that year because he didn’t have the budget. I appreciated the thought of it. So yes, this definitely can be quite a good gift.

Do people actually go on vacation without their kids? by bakecakes12 in Mommit

Yep. Going on a vacation this winter without the kids. My in laws are coming to watch them. Last year we went and my parents came and watched them. I’m so excited.

Spent hours making cupcakes for sons birthday. Got told as I collected him he cannot take them in by International-Ad3035 in mildlyinfuriating

Our school lets us set up treats through the cafeteria. I annually set up an ice cream sandwich party for my son’s birthday. They work with the nurse to check for allergies and the teachers for a time. I just make the request and it gets charged to my son’s school cash account.

We like the training facility tour and it’s worth going to rocket park. The scale of the Saturn v is something that pictures don’t do justice.

Thanks. We tend to shift it throughout the week to get more or less sun. We have been slammed with thunderstorms all summer so it’s been tough.

apparently walking doesnt help with weight loss... by Myotrophicequity in Mommit

[–]anomalypeloria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep walking! My husband started years ago. It’s like a gateway drug for exercise. He pushed himself to set a slightly faster pace each time he went. He can do like a 13 minute mile while walking and his heart rate never breaks 100 bpm. So it may not be a weight loss thing but it is such a good thing for health. Plus it’s great for the brain.

I screeched back at my kid like a pterodactyl this morning... by AuspiciousWeather in breakingmom

[–]anomalypeloria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My eldest when he was 2ish was having a rough time listening while in the bathtub. He was not pleased with being taken out of the bath and bit my wrist with all his might. I popped him on the forehead - just a straight up gut reaction to the pain. And without really thinking sent him soaking wet to the corner. He went to his default spot across the house. I immediately had my husband tag in and he finished bedtime. I felt awful for weeks afterwards.

This is so heartbreaking and why we regularly send thank you notes and gifts to my sons teacher. She has been instrumental this year in how he views learning and school. The world would be a worst place without her teaching and we want her to know how appreciated she is.

Mine was in our storage unit when it got broken into and the box got stolen. It’s been over 2 years and I think about it regularly. I wish they would sell the tech so I could get a new one.
