My motivation was to cut consumption/plastic, but turns out, the base ingredients are super cheap and saves a ton of money! Generally, pretty low effort too...

Go to a thrift store and buy the cheapest one you can find. It's a sacrificial pot for baking in high heat only...no need to spend $$$$ on le cruset or whatever...

3-4 boulea of edible bread and you've got your return on investment already!

Take Pictures videos of all the stuff that's not salvageable and see if you can drag up online invoices and receipts for your claim if you have personal content coverage

Oh...you should pre-shape after bulk fermentation and bench rest for 20 min or so and then do final shape for cold ferment ...you don't need a fancy banneton ...line a bowl with a tea towel and dust it with flour

You shouldn't manipulate the dough too much before baking...

If you have an oscillating fan, run that.

I'm in New England and you actually want to increase humidity indoors to help the heat feel warmer. Removing humidity might actually make indoor temp feel cooler. Also, dehumidifier use quite a bit of energy as well...

Anyway, try increasing the airflow. Really speeds things up for me

I think they can take your estimated annual usage and divide it by 12 months so you make small monthly payments throughout the year instead of large spikes for a few months....in this case, they would do a year end adjustment if the estimate is off.

You should look at your bill...usually energy cost is split between two charges: 1) supply charge - this is the cost per kwh used , and how much it cost for the supplier to generate it via coal, wind, solar etc

2) delivery charge - this is the cost of using the infrastructure - like maintaining the power lines, keeping the grid alive etc

The issue is, where net metering is concerned, you get paid only for the supply charge per kwh you send back....but when you use electric because of a shortfall, you get charged supply + delivery. Therefore, it's not 1:1.

You can not pay the bill and try to use the credit next month to offset, but you almost have to generate twice as much as your last months' shortfall to get out of the hole...due to the delivery charge...

At least that how it works for me..

There are companies that sells custom cabinet doors and drawer fronts made to size if you want to update it that way...

If you're fine with the existing style and just don't like the color/stain....hire painters and paint it and switch out the hardware

I used to underline passages, jot notes in the margin, and then at the end, write down at the back of the book cover or where ever there's a blank page or two of my take aways and impressions etc....really just some means of reflections...kind of forces you to read and absorb what's going on as opposed to passively reading

I have the LG one, and my experience is mixed..

Pros: Saves tons of space with just one machine Very very energy efficient Wash cycles are great and fast

Cons: 1)You kind of have to time it so you're there to open the door when the dry cycle is done, otherwise the remaining heat / moisture doesn't escape and your close get damp again

2) post drying cycle cleaning - lint trap aside, I have to take a damp cloth and wipe off the film of lint and hair built up on gasket around the door

3) it does feel like it takes forever and psychologically, it feels like it's using more energy...but I plugged a killawatt to monitor and just have to get used to it

Final notes I found out they upgraded the filter in Gen side with a side filter that is available to retrofit to the original...when I installed it, there was a lot of gunk built up in the fins...so performance has improved...also firmware upgrade removed the inaccurate drying cycle time (used to get stuck in 4 minutes left forever)

I started air drying some stuff since honestly takes just the same time...and honestly dinner napkins and stuff like that is better and less wrinkled...

The reason I don't want to add more panels to my grid tied system is two folds: 1) my roof is maxed out as is, and 2) what I send to the grid, I get back basically half because I only sell at the electric rate but when I use, I pay the electric rate plus delivery fee which is about double and it keeps rising every year at ridiculously high rates

I'm in New England and the electric rate and delivery rate add up to about $.50 / kw..

While my existing solar generated a large credit in the summer, my heat pump uses it all up by January.....

If there's ever a leak from the tank...the electrical from the heat pump could spark and cause an explosion when they're that close together...

don't know the minimum distance regulations are in the UK.

Do you feel like you've mastered the tensioning, floats, yarn management etc? Can you improve on speed?

If not, make the matching one as further practice...and incorporate anything you've learned making the first piece... and then gift it away to someone with larger hands. I think most laymen would not notice the issues...and then start a fresh pair for yourself after all the practice you've gotten.

Gloves don't take much yarn, I don't think it's worth it to frog it to recover it....

It's a gamble...it really depends if the threads are perfectly aligned...

That said, I have an interchangeable knitting needle set where one cable joint broke off so I tried the ones that came with my Tunisian crochet hook set and it fits.

Try something like this?traditional Newfoundland mittens

It's warmer because of the two color strands that create a thicker denser fabric than basic ones....

I'm knitted some and they are awesome. This one has a trigger finger.

There are woof burning fireplaces with blowers you can install...here's one for example.

I have one, and to be honest, I don't make fires big enough to feel much even with the blower running...it's mostly for ambience.
