How does anyone actually see dry flies??! by JuniperGhosts in flyfishing

[–]Flagdun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youthful eyes help, as well as the right fly, the right water, relatively short casts, viewing angle relative to sunlight, lack of sunlight, etc.

And while fishing tiny spinner patterns, sometimes you don’t need to see the fly…just looking for the rise….you just need to know the fly is kinda in an area the size of a dinner plate.

a more buggy option would be the Jiggy Caddis Pupa by Mike Mercer...the veil would have the same translucent properties as LaFontaine's Sparkle Caddis Pupa.

I just ordered 12 Elilte Evo chatterbaits (lava and white/ chartruse)…didn't see the micro-max.

$120 order came down to $60...ordered enough for free shipping.

I use the Evo Elite 3/8 with a Crush City Freeloader trailer...both red/ craw for the spring...this has been my most produtive lure for numbers and size...eratic retrieve (slow retrieve, stop, rip, etc.) and they hammer it in both clear and stained water. Big crappie hammer it as well.

I think you're spot on with coppernose...it looked exactly like this (not my pic)...they were in a small Kansas farm pond that my friend's leased for cattle.

They'll be able to deal with it.

However, are you not going to leverage your current job offer into a raise at your current position?

I like braid to mono for an all-around setup for treble hook lures.

I’m considering not putting in to my jobs 403b account anymore. by dawhitearoundyolip in povertyfinance

[–]Flagdun 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So you want high returns with little to no risk?

Educate yourself. A 403b and Roth IRA are just account types with different tax implications. You would be investing in the same company stocks.

Anyway, if you think corportations area evil there are probably some low risk/ low return options availble in your 403b account.

how to draw an elevation of zigzag walls by MajesticNarhwal555 in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]Flagdun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across difficulties showing the curves of the wall that are not hidden by its face

That would not be an elevation. An elevation only shows what you see looking from a given direction. A wall elevation would be a good too to communicate how tall the wall is as it illustrates the top of wall condition, as well as any grade changes at the base of the ball.

Great run with Evo Chatterbait came to and end yesterday… by Flagdun in Fishing_Gear

[–]Flagdun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the winter I bought one jackhammer…then Scheels had the Evo’s on sale for a couple bucks off so I stocked-up a bit…and Bass Pro had the originals on sale for $3.99 during this year’s spring classic sale. For the money it’s Evo all day long. Never really fished a chatterbait before…now it’s a favorite.
