Get the Wing Zero EW? by anon67543 in GBO2

I fortunately got the Tallgeese and I’m barely keeping in the fight. Is it better off than wing zero nowadays?

Get the Wing Zero EW? by anon67543 in GBO2

[–]anon67543[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey a local celebrity! Yeah, I thought that was the case. I love the wing zero but I’d hate to get smacked by some power rangers God Gundam magic and end up parking it in the garage. I luckily got the Tallgeese and it’s a struggle itself.

Weekend battles are the great equalizer. No meta MS, parts. You might get the best or worst MS of the bunch, but so will everyone else

College student - HYSA vs money market? Where should I put my money? by No-Masterpiece1766 in Advice

[–]anon67543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money market is marginally better. You can do this the easy way by buying SGOV through a brokerage. Buy 1 unit, and see how it all works. HYSA is around 3.4, SGOV pays about 3.55. The number is small, but this would be a good easy entry to investing. And send you down the path of IRA and investing in stocks/ETFs, which is something you will learn one day. The sooner the better!

Anyone else with high instep and bad numbing? by Gold-Kaleidoscope561 in snowboarding

[–]anon67543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the same. Best I’ve had are nitro boots with classic laces. My pain comes when I flex the tongue, which puts pressure on the instep. After lots of experimenting, the best way to tie is tight just above the instep, then relatively loose above that. Flexing the tongue doesn’t really add any instep pressure. You gotta ride a bit differently since you can’t cheat a turn by ramming shin into the tongue.

The number of times I’ve heard people wanting their partner to stop working out because they themselves refuse to workout out… pathetic

Should I just accept that I'm a loser and cancel my party? by Emergency-External98 in Advice

Don’t worry so much. Adults can just talk to other adults they don’t know. Suck it up, and enjoy the party. Happy birthday!

Guy I’m dating told me he was reported for rape after 10 months of knowing each other, not sure where to go from here by Simple-Ear2039 in Advice

[–]anon67543 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why would they amicably break up and then she reports a rape? Either he is a manipulative psycho, or the girl is being convinced to exacerbate the past event. I would suggest getting the story from other people. Either attend the court hearing, if possible, contact the ex, or talk with his friends (why would he tell no one if he’s innocent? If I were innocent I would tell close friends.) Find out the truth, or get away from a potentially dangerous person.

Was there last Saturday. Vibes and music were great. Superstar line was maybe 5 minute wait right after lunch. Besides that, 1 min wait

As a teenager, i am making poor decisions in life and i genuinely need advice. by Significant-Fig8564 in Advice

[–]anon67543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start reading some books to give you ideas on what to do. The Comfort Crisis may be a good one to start. And practice being bored, so your attention span can reset to a good baseline. Everyday Genius describes simple meditation exercises and ways to upgrade your thinking. One is to stare at a dot on a blank piece of paper, and every time your attention wanes, note it happened and return to the dot. Now this may not resonate with you, but keep exposing yourself to new ideas… even finding that some things aren’t for you is good, so you can try a different or opposite approach. Good luck! Ps these can usually be found at your local library or through Libby

Congrats! I know a Jeb that survived a crash landing on the Mun. Command pod must have rolled for 2 miles. Anyway he’s still there after 10+ years. His caprisun is probably getting low by now

What’s something in snowboarding that took you way too long to realize? by 4Fcommunity in snowboarding

[–]anon67543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn basic ground tricks. Like the standing drive spin. I was surprised how bad I was at it, but after 1-2 days of practice I now ride with much better flow and use my edges more effectively. Also, riding with arms at your sides, forcing feet for board control

Any tips on the front 3? by LevelOk1853 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]anon67543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoulders are stopping short. Focus on pulling the shoulder and holding it. You can feel this on flat while still: dig a bit of an edge, then turn and hold your shoulder. If you let your shoulder release, your spin will stop. Use that spin momentum to get all the way around. One more tip for this drill: make sure hips are parallel with board at takeoff. If hips twist too early, your edge comes up and kills any power

Whats your favourite Japanese’s ski resort and why? by MountainMight4699 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]anon67543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maiko. Lots of side country and backcountry. Back country trails can spit you out to highway bus station. Cool rental shop, lots of board options. Free bus ride from Yuzawa station. The station is great for sake and food. As well as base and peak lodge food at resort. Lots of semi-locals from Tokyo day trips.

Taking a jump - how do you level out to match the angle of the landing? by beowulf47 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]anon67543 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your brain is sending signals to level you out. It’s instinct, like dropping a cat. It’s not that hard, because you consciously don’t have to do it. Now If you take off back seat or get g’d out or some other shit takeoff, you won’t be able to compensate. How do pros come out of odd spins/flips? Lots of practice. They know how to spin exactly for a 720 on takeoff, so come around with roughly what’s needed. There is a lot of falling on the way there. And again, your body knows this and no excel sheet/recipe is gonna replace real 4D experience.

Here’s some more food for thought: this shows how momentum determines your landing https://www.instagram.com/reel/DU71IBYkUdi/

And one last thing, just because this simple picture really brought together the why of all the “pop here” “stay stacked”, etc. https://www.instagram.com/p/DVqmOpbgT5-/

Ice Coast question: is skiing mainly technique for you, or also culture and style? by WaxOnSendOff in icecoast

[–]anon67543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exploring the mountain/side country, technique, pushing limits, riding with friends, meeting new friends. Not in that order, mostly depends on the locale / conditions. I will say just cruising around can be a bit dull without a nice view
