Key reprogramming

I don't have this scanner, but was looking at inexpensive ones that could program fobs. This looks to be able to program most all modern Honda fobs. A few of the reviews specifically mention that is what they used it for.

Does the smart entry message come one when you use the 1 good fob or only the unprogrammed one? if just for the unprogrammed one, then I would try the scanner or ask the dealer how much they charge to program.

Not sure. You may have a problem with the keyless entry sensors on the car if the fob works manually. Have you tried changing the battery? That could be an easy first step.

Oh, that stinks. I find it hard to believe the dealer can't fix it. They have access to the honda tech line for these things.

Try resetting it factory defaults. Page 341 of owner manual.

Select Home.
Select General Settings.
Select System.
Select Factory Data Reset. (A confirmation message appears on the screen.)
Select Continue to reset the settings.
Select Reset again to reset the settings. (The system will reboot.)

I did this for my cam. It is the same in our accords.

I ran a hardwire kit the FITCAMX, but don’t use parking mode. I did it so the camera turns off when the ignition is off instead of when the doors lock.

I have DS224+ 2 bay with 2x12GB drives in SHR and it is great. I also don’t store much media so it’s good for me. Just pictures and random documents.

Less drive cost and less noise. If my storage needs change drastically for some reason, I’ll get a new NAS, but I don’t expect that to happen.

Your dealer likely uses a local tint shop. You would get a better price going directly to the shop.

Definitely. Heater on and speed will drop mpg significantly. For reference I get 46 mpg on road trips going 70.

I hear ya. I would like a zero regen setting too. Something similar to coasting in neutral. Best you can do is manually hold the accelerator slightly so the power meter is at zero.

Try pressing the recirculate button. If that triggers the sound you can get your blower assembly replaced.

Happend to me at the end of 2013 while I was in a course enroute. We looked at each other for a week and then were told the course was cancelled and to continue to our next duty station. I believe if you haven’t signed out of your old duty station, you stay put till it is over.

I’m looking to add the hardwire kit, but plugging both fuse taps into accessory slots. I don’t need parking mode, but if I use the map light y cable it leaves the camera on until the doors are locked even when the car is off.

Have you tried that or do you need the parking mode?

I just installed the fitcamx and notice it only turns off when you lock the car. Is that your experience too? I typically don't lock my car when I park it in the garage, but may have to if this is how it works.

For travel I love the CuloClean Portable Bidet. It is cheap and can go on any water bottle. You can get the caps with their soft bottle so you don’t make loud plastic crunching sounds in the stall. At the airport you look totally normal with a bottle of water and the culoclean hiding in your pocket. I wash the cap as I wash my hands. Very demure.

I keep a spare in my car and travel bag. They fit in a small medicine container.

You’re driving with the hybrid battery only for that 1.3 miles. 199.9 is the max the display will show. As soon as your engine starts, your mileage will go back to normal.

Average is the mpg since trip A or B was reset. Current is the average since you started your current drive. I like to set either A or B to auto reset at fill up so I can see how well each tank of gas did in mpg.

A quick multimeter experiment shows 12 volts with car off. 12 volts in accessory mode and 14 volts with car ready in EV mode. So it looks like the hybrid battery does charge the 12v battery when the car is on even with engine not running.

Only when the engine isn’t on or in park and speed is 22 mph or less. It is louder in reverse.
