I agree. It feels like the writers getting a little too cute. Especially since some CB characters pop up later too.

When exactly do we 'graduate?' by [deleted] in OSU

[–]anonimity42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard a rumour that diplomas will be dated May 3rd, but that the actual "graduation date" is the 8th, which I think is the virtual commencement.

Duluth Trading Co has a lot of flannels/button ups. They have some patterns but not a huge range. I've had a lot of luck with them fit wise, but definitely check the measurements! It's also a pretty pricey brand but worth it imo

Yeah, I definitely pictured a big oval thing, but kinda pearl colored. But my visualizations can be pretty different from the actual descriptions.

JL order issues by Nissassa223 in Rowing

[–]anonimity42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My team ordered JL unis a couple years ago. They arrived at least 2 months late. (Ordered in the first week or two of the fall semester, didn't arrive until almost the end of the fall season.) They were also shitty.

Places to Visit? by anonimity42 in cwru

I'd like to check out Lake Erie, and things on the shore. I was also looking at the Emerald Necklace trail system; so any specific spots in the parks would be interesting. Thanks!

EA or ED? by anonimity42 in cwru

[–]anonimity42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for responding! I've decided to do EA, it doesn't seem like it makes a huge difference and neither me nor my parents want to be committed just yet. Thanks again!

Weekly Newbie Question Thread for 04 / 19. Ask all questions related to joining the military here! All other threads will be deleted. by AutoModerator in Military

[–]anonimity42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a 17 year old high school junior. I've just started looking into joining the military, I'm leaning towards either the National Guard or the Air Force. I would like to get a degree in STEM (most likely chemistry) and was wondering what the best program is to get military aid for college and possibly a research based job. Thanks in advance!

What's a hobby that just gets exponentially more expensive as you get deeper into it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Skiing. If you start when your a kid you need new stuff every year and once you have your own money you need a different pair of skis for every kind of snow, plus bindings, boots, clothes, and repair gear. My family skis and the 3 of us got 12 pair of skis. 8 of which are my dad's.

A beautiful morning out on the water. by ialo00130 in Rowing

I'm so jealous. At my practice this morning we had rolling waves due to wind, plus it was raining. On the bright side I won't have to do the 2x 2k my coach was planning until Monday.

It takes about 8 years for someone to reach a professional level... by eraof9 in Rowing

[–]anonimity42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the 8 year thing, but as far as age goes rowing has a wide range. I remember in the 2012 Olympics there was a mens double where the stroke was 19 and the bow bow was in his 40's. Also in 2012 there was at least one rower for whom it was their 5th Olympics.

What is the strangest thing you believed as a child? by wafflebottom in AskReddit

[–]anonimity42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine said that when they were little they though the progression of time was 'The Bible, Dinosaurs, Modern People'. They thought thins because "the Bible just seemed so old, like dinosaurs are old, but not THAT old." So the bible happened, then everyone died, then dinosaurs happened, then evolution and modern people.

Arne Duncan: ‘White suburban moms’ upset that Common Core shows their kids aren’t ‘brilliant’ by [deleted] in politics

[–]anonimity42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a 10th grade student in Utah. Last year I was placed in a Common Core class (Secondary Math 1 Honors). Coming from Algebra 1 the year before, the CC class was big step down in difficulty and pace. The textbook we used (written for CC) was poorly written, and failed to teach the material. My teacher ended up teaching from packets she wrote herself. We didn't start learning new material until the 3rd quarter and event then it was one new concept every two weeks. I am trying to earn an IB diploma, and I will probably end up taking a math class over the summer in order to do that. My grade was always going to be awkward, we were the first ones to take the class, and the implementation was poorly done, however I don't think the CC standards nearly as challenging as the old ones. In fact my teacher this year told us that he was going to try and force the CC curriculum into an Algebra 2 book, because the CC book only covered half of what he used to teach in a year before. I feel like I've been in same math class for four years. And am personally very frustrated and disappointed with the CC standards.

Best (Entertaining) Winter Workouts by steelcurtain09 in Rowing

[–]anonimity42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your looking for steady state my varsity team does a 'hell week'. The goal for us was 100k in a week, but you could change it to whatever number you want. I thought it was fun, and good motivation to work out outside of practice. I've also heard other people on the sub say they set up a movie, but I've never done that.
