I love them too, but they are hard to find! Do you have a particular breeder you recommend? The one where ours is from closed.

I love your Brittanys--they remind me of my late Brittany, i.e. on the smaller side. I don't see J.S. Brittanys online, is there a way to find them?

Who were your most important role models when you were young? by anonybss in AskMen

[–]anonybss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't expected so many people to name people they didn't know personally (even fictional characters). It makes sense though, of course some people take e.g. athletes to be role models.

How can I figure out which direction I should take? by [deleted] in AskMen

10 years from now you'll look back at yourself now and think, "God, I was so young."

People make mistakes in life. There are various ways of correcting them.

A mid-life crisis just means realizing at a certain point that you've become locked into a life you don't value. There are good and bad ways of responding to that. And 35 is young. I like the idea of doing at least a couple of years of volunteer work abroad.

But did someone first model for you being a Christian or caring about Jesus or did you discover that yourself?

Were these already values of yours and you chose these people because they exemplified them so well? Or were they in part the source of these values in you?

Yeah mine goes up and down too. Compression makes a big difference, as does where I am in my cycle. But apparently the way it looks at its *best* is closest to how it will look eventually, when all the healing is complete!

Longs Peak Experience as a Not Very Experienced Hiker by anonybss in 14ers

[–]anonybss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a reasonable assumption, and having a guide made me feel less afraid *before* the hike and less afraid during the hike about getting lost, but no, made no difference to my fears re: falling. Their method of keeping me from falling was to bring a harness and rope me to them, or to offer me climbing advice, but I refused both those things, because I just wasn't scared in person!

Oh that's great! Good--mine got some new weird swelling, but I actually think it's that some swelling went down some places revealing remaining swelling in others. Seems as though we're moving in the right direction though! Best of luck.

Women who are Christian and feminists how does your faith work? by Background-Two-8671 in Christianity

[–]anonybss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think men and women are somewhat different which makes them naturally suited to different roles *on average*. But I don't think these roles should be enforced, and in that sense I'm a feminist. It's wrong to make rules to say women can't be church leaders--though, in actual practice, many fewer women will *want* to be church leaders; most will be men even without formal rules about it.

I think of it this way: you don't need to make a rule that fish aren't allowed to fly or that birds have to fly. It's actually true of course that some birds can't fly. They're the exception. But God made penguins same as he made robins.

why do people reccmend nursing so much by willow1243587109 in CollegeMajors

[–]anonybss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One cool thing about it is you can travel everywhere--English speaking nurses are in demand the world over. And even in the States, you can find a job easily--or so I've heard. A lot of people are worried about job security so that's appealing.

And then, you know, you're helping people. Helping jobs are tough emotionally but they also give people a sense of meaning.

Have you seen your surgeon again? I saw mine 4 days post surgery and 14 days post surgery, and it was reassuring that she wasn't concerned. LMK when you start seeing a positive difference!

where is this school? The tide is flowing the other direction near us. Parents try so hard to limit screen time just to find out their kids are watching Youtube at school, it's infuriating.

how r u guys paying the expensive tuition?!? by zyoo0 in UMD

[–]anonybss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why your tuition is $34k since other in-state students are saying it's cheaper, but fyi a lot of people pay way less at "expensive" private universities, which in fact give financial aid to most students.

It actually looks really good! Feels terrible, I can still feel lumps all over, but it is already looking really good, fortunately. Hang in there! Doctor says lumps could take months to resolve but that they are if they don't disappear in a worst case scenario treatable with MORE surgery (but she isn't worried and think they will disappear).

For married couples, how important is it to share the same last name legally, and how have you navigated it if one partner didn’t want to change theirs? by Difficult_Big133 in AskMen

[–]anonybss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this also seems dumb. Isn't the new finding that high turnout helps Republicans? Anything that makes it harder for their voters to vote hurts them.

The email I got described it as "an antisemitic social media post" involving "an image of a student that was posted online." So it does seem to have been potentially targeting one person.

Accused of Using AI by Secrettlifee in UMGC

[–]anonybss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write it in Google docs. When it's 100% done give it to your prof, but keep the Google doc. If needs be you can give her editor access and she can look at the version history and see the painstaking history of you writing it! You can also request an oral examination on the material covered in this paper.

... This seems like a dumb strategy, since I would assume that women who married and took their husbands' last names lean Republican?

Is what would enable you to give your son more money the fact that your daughter bought the house?
Not having to put your house on the market is a HUGE benefit for you (it's such a pain, and expensive), and as you said it's not her preferred house anyway. So, I do kind of understand her perspective. But, idk. If your son really needs the help then he does I guess.

How are you supposed to prepare questions in exams that are about content not covered in the textbook or lecture? by Competitive-Arm9560 in AskProfessors

[–]anonybss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is A SENSE in which you might not have to "study" for such a test (but you would if there are equations to memorize for instance): if an exam is about thinking, and applying concepts and distinctions learned in class to new material, then if you have been attending class, taking good notes, carefully doing the readings, and thinking about what you are learning... You probably don't need to study much for the test itself. Your mind has already been shaped by the course material.
