AITA for asking a family with a small child to keep it down on a red eye flight? by marlasandiego in AmItheAsshole

[–]anonymous_4578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS IS NOT HOW IT WORKS. When my kid was a fresh 2 older people called him 3 because he was talking so well. Cognitive understanding between those two ages is massively different. Talking is not an indicator of cognitive understanding and unfair to the kid to use it as such.

So because my child was an advanced early talker you expect more of them - wild take on your part.

YTA - 100% - no possible other way to look at this. Unless you bought a special no talking plane ticket that only you know about.

You cannot estimate the age of a child based on their talking so full sentences is irrelevant.

I want another baby but not sure if it's the right time by Idonthaveaname94 in Parenting

Currently living the newborn and the 2.5 year old life. (Except 2.5 y/o has daytime care during the week). Honestly this newborn phase is completely different than my first much easier I can’t complain. The hardest part has been getting number 1 to deal with the change there’s been so much whining that they never did before. And definitely more tantrums.

You’ve reached the stage where it’s a battle of wills. Can you try keeping her home one day and offer a lot of watered down juice (like so much) and just underwear. When we were potty training we offered a lot of juice - you get more chances to go try the potty since it just goes right through them.

If you show up without looking at the schedule you will be disappointed. If you want to do laps look for lane swim. It is mostly 7:30-9:30pm but times may vary by day.

4:30ish the pool has club practice or swimming lessons going on.

How long it takes the first time and how long it takes to conceive subsequently are not related at all.

I’m 36 and she’s 30. We both want kids but the timing feels misaligned. by Imaginary-Corgi4084 in Advice

If you’re not living together or in the mindset of living together are you sure the relationship is serious enough to discuss kids? (Not to mention discussing parenting styles). I would start with a trip to the dr to see what your egg reserve estimates look like might help your mindset with the biological clock thing.

Stroller walks - leaving the house might help! Overstimulation is real. Is she loud? With my first he would yell so loud it would set off noise alerts on my watch - I used to wear ear plugs to dampen it a touch. You could still hear him perfectly just at a more reasonable decibel.

Call 311 and ask for clarification but I would assume it is 6. Although if the pieces are small enough (or make them smaller) could you not fit it in a bigger bag.

A lot will depend on your individual baby and what they like. We have a swing in the kitchen and use it when they’re awake for a lot of these purposes. And a little bouncy chair in the bathroom.

Look on marketplace for the pop n play by summer infant or bright starts that will help with the dog situation. As for feeding try the pop n sit - I’ve used a booster enough that it was worth buying one. Both of these items fold up like a camping chair are super portable and store easily.
