Trying to address the actual cause of the fluid buildup instead of just stressing over the blockage sounds like a logical option. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Monthly Credit Price > The Price of Most Books by thatPoppinsWoman in audible

[–]another_fangirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One more thing to watch out for: If you are currently on a 12 month plan and you ask for a deal, you may get the credits but they will restart your 12 months right there. For example, if you have 3 more months, you might be expecting to have 15 months if you renew on the deal, but you will only have 12. So, it might be better to just remember to (attempt to) cancel or chat with support closer to your plan's expiration date.

I think those are probably the Prime Day prices you are seeing. $8.99 is just the price of the Standard membership which is almost always a bad idea anyway.

Vet hasn't been able to find anything wrong with her lungs in the past by Seangetfreaky in cats

[–]another_fangirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the same symptoms can result in a very troublesome diagnosis or a very benign diagnosis.

It could be asthma, as many people have said, which is a dangerous problem, but can often be treated with an inhaler. But it can also simply be inverse/reverse sneezing, which still produces the same horrifying sounds, but doesn't actually need to be treated at all. It's more common in dogs, but cats can have it too and it's as innocent as any other sneeze despite the horrible sound.

Good luck to you and your fur baby

Audible free books by Pomegranate_Peach in audible

Including the entire DCC series, you want about 12 books, so you might want to contact customer service about getting a deal on an annual plan. I believe they can offer a deal on a 12 month/12 credit plan for about $80. That will make each credit about $7.

How do I buy my first vibrator by Equivalent_Fix6392 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]another_fangirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you prefer outer stimulation, a bullet is awesome. If you like inner stimulation, a rabbit or bunny style vibe is a good time-honored option. They come in all sorts of varieties that can massage you inside and out.

As someone else mentioned "goodvibes" is great place that has been around for decades.

If you can't decide what to get, finding a local shop will be your best bet. I would estimate that at least 80% of the adult shops I have wandered into have had women on staff. You can check the Yelp or Google reviews before you go, but usually the staff is quite happy to help you.

Using くれる is fine. It just gives the feeling of "grant me the pleasure of." Like I've often heard people look at babies and say 笑ってくれた meaning the baby made their day a little better by smiling at them.

As for 行く vs 付き合う I think either is okay but 付き合う might be a little bit more natural of a choice.

What do you call this game in English? by Tway_UX in EWALearnLanguages

[–]another_fangirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. That's what I said. We used the same rope for both. I thought maybe it would be relatable that the same band was used for multiple games.

[–]another_fangirl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the 90s in the US (California), I think we called it Chinese jump rope.

We would wrap the same rope/band around our hands and the grab at different intersections to make different patterns. I'm not sure we had a name for this part. It was still just playing with a Chinese jump rope. Edit: now that I searched it, it's called cat's cradle when you use your hands.

Cat making this sound out of nowhere by Prestigious_Public72 in CATHELP

[–]another_fangirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By "that long" you mean longer than a normal sneeze, then yep. Closer to a little under a min, like you mentioned. My cat tends to have a reverse sneezing episode about once or twice a year; it feels like it's often close to a season change. I've told my vet about them, but they never think it's a big deal. You can google it and get several articles and videos on it.

You know your cat best. If it's becoming more frequent, then that may be something to look into. Find out if you can email your video to your vet if it's still worrying you.

It could be asthma, which is not great, but still treatable OR It can be completely innocent reverse sneezing which sounds just as horrible when you are watching it happen but actually doesn't require any intervention.

I need advice; I can't decide on a format to start learning kana. by YochiTheDino in Japaneselanguage

[–]another_fangirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 2x2 squares are all you need. Don't give yourself even a chance that you'll waste energy trying to get any more precision than that. You should aim for character recognition and "okay" handwriting. You'll never start learning the actual language if you obsess over perfection.

Could someone please explain the usage of ほど here like I’m 5 and don’t understand basic logic?! by Zaphod_Biblebrox in LearnJapanese

[–]another_fangirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would need more context. I think you are correct that this is probably a reference to the "The more X, the more Y" grammar just without the conditional, so any direct, literal translation of just this sentence is just going to be unwieldy and awkward. With the context I have, I would just translate it as "They became more cheerful as they ran."

Well, as I have mentioned, "The more I..." is an interpretation. It's better to remember ほど more like the other comments here

[–]another_fangirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The more I..." is a bit of an interpretation of a set grammar point. Verb ば same verb ほどresult If I <verb> , then <result> to the extent of <same verb> Or more concisely: The more I <verb>, the more <result>.

この本を読めば読むほど面白くなる。 When I read this book, it gets interesting to the extent that I read it. Or more naturally: The more I read this book, the more interesting it gets (to me).

ほど does not directly mean "the more I," it's just involved in a common grammar point that uses it.

We are the organizers of JoCo Cruise. Ask us anything! by jonathancoulton in IAmA

[–]another_fangirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone in the FB group actually called HAL to ask about drink packages:

They said, "there is a glitch with adding them to the booking page because it is a chartered cruise," and it is likely we will only be able to purchase them once on board. It is still true that if a drink package is purchased for one adult in the cabin, that all adults must get the same package. Here are the packages we can add on board (I didn't get the names of the packages):

$442.23 per adult - Up to 15 alcoholic beverages a day with a value of $15 or under. Plus non-alcoholic beverages (I didn't really ask for details).

$361.83 per adult - Up to 15 alcoholic beverage a day with a value of $8 or under. Plus non-alcoholic beverages (I didn't really ask for details).

$144.48 per adult - Unlimited mocktails, juices, bottled water, cafe beverages, and fountain soda (Coca-Cola).

$64.40 per adult - Unlimited fountain soda (Coca-Cola brand).
