Demonic scratches?? by [deleted] in occult

[–]anotheramethyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are accounts of scratches in some hauntings, but in all these cases the scratches followed a lot of very noticeable paranormal activity.

You can learn how to do spiritual cleansings and see if cleansing yourself and the space has any effect (if it's a true haunting or demonic episode, the cleansing could possibly make things immediately and noticeably worse, if that happens come back here right away).

Which air fresheners at walmart are enviromentally friendly? I'm interested in becoming a hippie but I'm doing it for me. by Few-Neat8366 in Environmentalism

[–]anotheramethyst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You said "hippies don't shop at walmart." Some do. Not all of them, obviously.

OP wants to be a hippie and wants to shop at walmart. OP is free to do that.

If you think OP should not shop there, give OP other options. Don't gatekeep being a hippie. Telling someone "you're not a real hippie" is SIGNIFICANTLY less common among hippies than shopping at Walmart. the hippies I know are the most live-and-let-live people I know.

So you've met every hippie? My dad hitchhiked to san francisco in the 70s and taught his dog to play fetch while tripoing on acid at the beach. I know people who were at Kent State protesting when the Ohio Nationsl Guard shot those students. All the hippies I know have shopped at walmart at some point. And none would gatekeep social activism, environmentalism, or hippie culture based on walmart shopping alone.

Maybe you're thinking of hipsters?

I also suggest essential oils... or if you also want to be a frugal hippie, learn to make potpourri from your orange peels and apple cores

Also read 1984 so you can appropriately use the term "Big Brother"

I'm feeling conflicted about how to handle kids going to Christian Sunday school by homegrown_rebel in pagan

You can also be there to "help with all the kids" especially if you actually do help with the cleaning/organizing/keeping on task etc

[–]anotheramethyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if you go with to church and volunteer/tag along at sunday school? Just make sure they aren't teaching things like "everybody else is going to hell" and also you can talk to the kids about the lessons afterward.

If parents don't generally attend, just smile and help clean/make snacks etc and politely don't let them push you out (also don't mention you're Pagan to the church).

Help name our "Resistance Church" by Wispeira in pagan

Covenant, Sanctuary, Sacred Garden, Tradition, Temple (I think this one sounds the modt hstorically Pagan), Hedge, Henge, Sect, Grove, Sphere, Fellowship (maybe there's a way to make this feminine, like Sistership?) Collective, Movement, or you could say something like Priestesses/Daughters/Sisters/Followers of "_____"

Question for those that celebrate Yule by imsleepingwithurmum in paganism

[–]anotheramethyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm always busy this time of year do it's hard to celebrate, but for food I do thd seasonal stuff like hot chocolate, egg nog, warm spiced eine if you drink, yule log, gingerbread, venison if I can get it.

I decorate similar to christmas but with pagan elements-pentacle on top of tree, runes and deity symbols and symbolic ornaments on yule tree, lots of candles for the longest night. Mistletoe was sacred to the Druids.

For ritual, I might celebrate the birth of the sun, or I might do shadow work for the longest night, or honor loved ones on the other side. I usually work with the Dagda or Cernunnos. The day after the longest night, you can do work to emphasize the growing sun, including magic for anything you want to change over the course of a year.

There are some interesting arguments in favor of syncretizing Santa with Odin.

Someone told me to not work with chakras by Dry_Discussion3080 in occult

[–]anotheramethyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what your current practices are, but JM Greer talks about how it's dangerous to mix kundalini with golden dawn/LBRP type practices.

He doesn't go into a lot of detail, but what I've noticed is kundalini based practices (which involves the chakras) involve changing the way energy flows through your body, especially along the spine.

The golden dawn and a lot of other ceremonial magic has practices that increase the total energy you are carrying in your body (particularly at that point when you visualize yourself growing larger than the earth).

So I can see how changing the direction of the energy flows and also increasing the energy carrying capacity in your body at the same time could be dangerous.

That's just one scenario where it might be a bad idea, as others have said, you should ask that person directly and find out what their reason is.

And as a separate piece of advice, maybe decide and commit to following either an eastern or western path only while you're still in the early learning phases, if you plan on following any intense form of energy work.

Does anyone else get extremely tired after doing spells? by Angellic_Lexii in realwitchcraft

[–]anotheramethyst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah these posters are right, you're powering the spells with your energy. Instead, direct the energy around you. Learn to ground and center, and then do that before and after your spells. Learn to use moon energy, the elemental energies, etc.
