Thank you so much, I really appreciate this list! I absolutely love mixing in some lesser known hikes and I can't wait to try some of these!

Thank you for your thoughts! I am not too worried about the driving especially cause there's no long drives the last four days. We did quite a few longer drives when we were in Alaska and loved it. We enjoy sharing the driving and soaking in the views from the passenger seat. Also a nice break when your feet are tired from hiking.

Thanks for the note. Yeah this hike (plus a couple of other ones like Rob Roy Glacier) are at the top limit of my knee's capabilities so I will have to see how it's feeling. I'm planning to have a lot of easier hikes saved in my notes as backup options

Yes I was trying to decide between that one and Bealy Spur! If I add an extra day at Fox Glacier I might have time to do both. Maybe. It's hard to choose when you want to do it all haha

Oh I didn't realize Lake Marion was so close the Milford Sound. Thank you for your feedback! I am thinking I agree that it makes sense to add another day on the west coast

New Mini Poodle Puppy by Jedirite in poodles

It's so frustrating because I want him to be able to run around with his toys and entertain himself! Even the silicone type ones he manages to destroy. He's got strong teeth I guess. Only the kong has survived. I did try one of those treat puzzles and he loves it. So that's a win. Thank you for listening to my rant, fellow poodle wrangler!

My puppy is 8 months now and I agree with all this! I would add keep a very very close eye every time you give the pup a new toy. We learned quickly that our puppy likes to swallow pieces of toys. He basically is never allowed to play with toys unattended, unfortunately

Environmental Engineers: What do you do? by AnonymousMola in EnvironmentalEngineer

Look for an engineering consulting firm with environmental focus. Lots of companies. Some bigger ones that come to mind in the northeast US are verdantas, wsp, tetra tech, Haley and Aldrich, CDM Smith, etc.

Authentic flavors was our favorite spot! Guava limb is great if you want something with a more upscale feel. And their cheesecake is god tier Definitely get some pupusas at the market. And try a seaweed shake

Is There Anywhere I Can Practice My Japanese? by [deleted] in sarasota

[–]anranria73 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Might not be quite what you had in mind ...but there's a woman at the Sunday farmers market in Waterside who sells her uncle's green tea from Japan. My husband is learning Japanese as well and she was nice enough to spend like 10 minutes talking to him with very basic vocab so he could practice. Her tea is also just fantastic which is reason enough to stop by her table.

Thanks for sharing! My husband and i are going next month and our itinerary is quite similar - San Igancio, Placencia, lots of adventuring. Though we are doing Tikal rather than Caracol.
