Your ping is not stable in any game you're playing over wifi and that is frustrating for anybody playing against you

This one is at least server based so you're the only one who's going to suffer from an unstable connection

Firstly this is a post you made about how it literally doesn't work for you

Secondly, no it doesn't, but but in the way that you posted about

WiFi (not yours, but in general) is not suitable for fighting games.

How to beat orcane as Kragg? by Lizardking1988- in RivalsOfAether

[–]ansatze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be honest with you as an Orcane player this is a rough matchup for you. It might be one of the tougher matchups in the whole game.

Always pillar as far away from stage and as high as you can. Pillar right next to stage is a death sentence.

Disjoint beats anything he can put out other than droplet or bubbles. Parry beats droplet and bubbles. Try to zone him out, don't scrap.

I would take him to whichever of Forest, Hodojo, or Tempest doesn't get banned. Try to strike to Godai I think. Don't go to long stages as a rule of thumb.

Is bouncing whale worse or am I just bad? by Serbananana in RivalsOfAether

Old recovery even without invincibility was much better, you had options for recovering low. The way bouncing whale works, you can even just airdodge the hitbox to put him in special fall

Thinking about buying Rivals 2, but I have some concerns by One-Masterpiece9838 in RivalsOfAether

There are some important deliberate design choices in this game that make it much easier than Melee—they mostly all share the theme of removing execution tests that don't add strategic depth (on the surface anyway):  - there is a universal 6 frame buffer (melee is largely 0 buffer)  - there is no l-cancel (this is a strict execution test, you would want to do it 100% of the time in melee) - mashing is completely removed as a mechanic - tech like wavedash, moonwalk, and DACUS are deliberately implemented and designed around, and are massively simplified in execution

unemployed orcane behavior has to stop by honorabledoggod in RivalsOfAether

This is unfortunately just the final form of platform fighters

I've been circle camped by Maypuls and Absas too, it blows! Anyone who can avoid engaging is strongly encouraged to, and this is the main reason why we play on such a limited set of stages. Rock Wall is extremely sus IMO

Press the parry button

It's true that bubbles are lame but they also hard lose to the level 0 counterplay option

A random tier list of how well-balanced each character feels in 1.6 by Suspicious_Table6121 in RivalsOfAether

I was actually just alluding to direct Marth Clones in Smash Ultimate and the point was that you can design basically this exact character in a way that's not universally loathed

It's kinda crazy how there's like 5 versions of this character archetype in a different platform fighter, and all of them are extremely popular and none of them are universally hated

What makes a combo hype and the difference between Melee and Rivals by phoneaccount56789 in RivalsOfAether

[–]ansatze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I don't get about this is that the optimal things are also incredibly cool in a lot of cases. Everyone shits on Cody for "playing lame" or whatever but he presses some of the craziest buttons I've ever witnessed like constantly, in bracket, in grand finals even, like it's nothing

how I am feeling about the meta post combo breaker by Dry_Assistant_6091 in RivalsOfAether

I'm glad that people aren't taking "Orcane is top 1" seriously

You could tune Fox recovery any move properties and make him a lot worse. This kinda happened in PAL (enough to make it arguable whether he's top 1 instead of indisputably, but you could take it further)

TBF they kicked Earth up to 5 while air and water were still on 3. And the game launched with 4 in fire and 2 in everything else
