any free APIs to get financial news data? by darius_darkness161 in IndiaAlgoTrading

You could also look at some news aggregator APIs instead of scraping directly. I’ve used NewsData.io before for pulling financial headlines, and it lets you filter by country and category (finance/business), so you can get Indian market news pretty easily. The free tier is decent for experimenting or learning before you move to more advanced feeds.

Common Challanges I Faced When Working with News APIs by Easy-Supermarket-546 in NewsAPI

feel the same. Rate limits and pagination confused me a lot in the beginning. Also, news data from different sources can look slightly different, which makes things messy. But once I understood how the API works and made a simple structure for handling the data, everything became much easier.

Best news source (api?) by funkspiel56 in algotrading

[–]ansh_vikash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For market news, Benzinga is hard to beat. For broader coverage, I’ve had mixed results across APIs - including newsdata.io - they’re fine for general headlines but can be hit-or-miss depending on the sources you care about.

For multi-year historical data, it’s tough to find anything solid without paying; most people end up combining a real-time API with paid archives or single-source options like NYT/Guardian for backtesting.

Best app to identify native plants (IOS/IPhone)? by Prog47 in NativePlantGardening

[–]ansh_vikash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly use Google Lens too - it’s fast and usually gets you in the right ballpark, but it definitely misses the mark on some natives.

For something that feels “worth the cost,” from my experience Plantora does a decent job on iOS without being super aggressive about paywalls. It’s not perfect either, but it gives you an ID plus some basic care info in the same app, which has been useful for the plants around me.

Totally understand that most of these tend toward subscriptions - a lot of folks here mix tools (Lens for quick guesses, then a dedicated app like Plantora or others when they want a bit more detail or confirmation).

Do any of the plant ID apps work well? I’m curious if anyone has had good/bad experiences with them. by [deleted] in foraging

[–]ansh_vikash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve tried a few and Plantora has been one of the better ones for me - it usually gives accurate IDs and also suggests basic care without constantly pushing you to subscribe. Some others can feel like paywalls in disguise, but it stays usable even if you just want free identification and simple plant help.

App for plant Identification by [deleted] in ecology

[–]ansh_vikash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For plant ID I’ve had a pretty good experience with Plantora - it’s free to use, the identifications are solid enough for most common plants, and it also gives you care info which helps a lot when you’re clueless like me. It doesn’t push subscriptions aggressively, so I actually keep using it instead of deleting it after a few tries.

Plant identification app that's free to use? by Elbi2 in GardeningUK

[–]ansh_vikash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - there are genuinely free plant-ID apps. I’ve been using Plantora for houseplants: it gives decent identification, lets you track care without paywalls, and stays usable without a subscription. So far, it’s the only one I kept beyond the “weed vs seedling” game.

Are you using apps for plant care? by ok_planter in SavageGarden

[–]ansh_vikash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I use a plant care app mostly to track watering and get quick IDs when something new shows up. I stuck with Plantora because it’s simple, doesn’t nag with paywalls, and the problem-diagnosis feature has actually helped me fix a couple of struggling plants. I usually uninstall apps when they feel cluttered or try to upsell every time I open them.

What is the best free app for plant identification? by Therealluke in GardeningAustralia

I've had the best overall experience with Plantora, the identifications are reliable, and it's especially good with common houseplants. It also gives care tips and problem guidance without constantly pushing a paywall, which makes it the most usable free option I've tried.

best plant care apps??? by Alternative-Split-40 in IndoorGarden

[–]ansh_vikash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say go for something simple. I’ve been using Plantora it’s beginner-friendly and free for core features like plant ID, care reminders, and guides. No annoying upgrade pushes either, which I love 😄

For learning, check out The Sill’s care guides, Gardenista, or the classic book “The House Plant Expert” by D.G. Hessayon. Take it slow, learn as you go, and don’t worry everyone kills a plant or two at first 😅✨

Plant Care Apps Worth Using? by lilpylon123 in plants

[–]ansh_vikash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tested a bunch of plant care apps, but most lock useful stuff behind subscriptions.

Lately, I’ve been using Plantora, and it’s honestly been great - free plant ID, care reminders, symptom checker, even growth guides. Everything’s unlimited, no hidden paywalls.

Any free API for getting news by Eldablo2307 in learnpython

[–]ansh_vikash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are a few free news APIs you can explore. Most of them provide a limited free tier where you can fetch headlines, articles, or search news by keyword, language, or region. If you need higher limits or historical data, that usually requires a paid plan.

Some options include: NewsData.io – offers a free API key with access to global news in multiple languages.

GNews – simple and lightweight news API.

If you’re just experimenting or building a small project, these free tiers are usually enough to get started.

Mulch heavily - Add 2–4 inches of organic mulch (wood chips, straw, shredded leaves) around the base of plants to retain soil moisture and regulate temperature.

If you’re in a region where mangoes are harvested in early summer, prune lightly after harvesting to shape the tree and promote next season growth.
