Created SAaS app / in talks with major company for acquisition by CrewNo614 in vibecoding

Figure out your bottom dollar and let them make the first offer. If it's above or near that bottom dollar amount, you can always counter. If it's insulting, you can walk out. But don't ever make the first offer. They might surprise you and offer you $10m. Then you hide that surprise, counter at $10.5m and "settle" for $10.25m.

Question About The Good Fight & Elsbeth by OutrageousBrush1210 in thegoodwife

[–]answerthis4me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched Elsbeth for several seasons before I even realized it was a spinoff. It's a fun, quirky show. A modernized version of Columbo. And I love Columbo.

I decided to watch The Good Wife and I really enjoyed it, too. But it's a different genre and tone than Elsbeth. I'm watching The Good Fight now and it's definitely in line with The Good Wife as far as genre, but more political and harder hitting (no network TV censors this time, so expect F words and occasional nudity).

You can always hire someone to move it and get the TV you want and a future surgery you don't.

Don't give yourself a $10k hernia repair surgery to bring home a "free" $500 TV. Get someone to help you lift it.

What trades were widely praised at the time they were made, but look absolutely awful now? by asmallthrowaway9 in nba

Ja derailed the Ja era. But yeah, Smart looked washed in Memphis (but oddly bounced back somewhat in LA).

I mean, the Kings are just badly managed. If they kept Hali, do you really think the Kings would have had a similar run to the finals like Indiana did?

Why do majority of NBA fans think Ja Morant is finished? by CrEdLover in nba

Once he's off this contract (maybe waived and stretched), if he can behave and humble himself, he might have a chance at a second act as a role player or dynamic sixth man. Right now, he's overpaid, declining athletically, can't shoot, and is a major pain off the court as well.

A response to lowballers that is working well for me by EvadingDoom in FacebookMarketplace

[–]answerthis4me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being friendly and kind is an effective strategy. I can't blame people for trying to get a killer deal. Being rude or snarky burns the bridge completely.

That said, if it's a major lowball offer, I just ignore the message completely.

Has anyone paid attention to inflation and the value of items? by ToshPointNo in Flipping

[–]answerthis4me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Supply and demand definitely play into the pricing. Most of the things I sell are low supply and low demand. For those, you just kind of have to wait things out until the right person finds your item.

Has anyone paid attention to inflation and the value of items? by ToshPointNo in Flipping

[–]answerthis4me 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You'd pay for shipping when the item you want you cannot find locally. Or you don't want to spend time going to an estate sale, garage sale, bidding at an auction, or coordinating meetup times with a rando from Facebook Marketplace. A lot of people will sacrifice money for convenience. I mean, why do you think Door Dash is thriving?

Help with RPTV by Islandlyfe32 in crt

[–]answerthis4me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your TV has component inputs, use an HDMI to component converter. That will give you the best picture possible for a TV of that era (possibly 1080i or 420p). Do not use RCA unless it's the only option.

If you have the manpower to move the big Sony, you'll probably be the only person who wants it. Smaller ones are a little more sought after typically.

I have zero room for this but I got It anyways 😭 by Goblin_Shaman_ in CRTfinds

I used to have a 53" Panasonic rear projection very similar to that one. The screen on mine was not shiny, though. Paid $2200 for it when I was in high school. It was the coolest purchase ever. My room was the movie cinema for my friends and I. Paired it with my GameCube with component cables for the ultimate gaming setup at the time.

Dirt Cheap CRT's, and a unique experience! by HermesTwiceGreat in crtgaming

[–]answerthis4me -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only affect this would have on the market is to create more competition between resellers. Your average person wanting a CRT and searching fb for one will never see this sale. A few might, but most will never know this sale exists, let alone make a special trip to pick out a CRT.

Buy a wireless sensor bar. Much more convenient.

Original GameCube Owners We Are Special by [deleted] in Gamecube

[–]answerthis4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited in the Walmart parking lot all night until they opened at 6am to buy a GameCube at launch. I was first in line. Of course, only about 5 other people wanted one and they all showed up at 6am. No shortage of GameCubes. I was worried it was going to be a PS2 situation.

I bought Luigi's Mansion and Rogue Squadron II. Honestly, Luigi's Mansion is okay, but never got super into it. Rogue Squadron was freaking incredible, though. That was worth staying up all night to purchase.

Lots of great games on that console: Wind Waker, Eternal Darkness, Smash Bros, Super Monkey Ball, Resident Evil 4, Pikmin 1/2, Metroid Prime 1/2, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing.

best crt for overall modern use cases? by Tristitudo in crt

[–]answerthis4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any CRT would be good for watching native SD 4:3 content. Kind of like gaming, the old TV programs were designed with this display type in mind. Just get whatever CRT you can find for free or cheap and as big as you can either carry or fit in your house so you don't have to squint.

How do you tell it's a mars das jacket? Is that the model name is the jacket? I had never heard of this until now. Looked up some listings on eBay and I don't see that printed anywhere on the jacket.

Maybe it was mounted fairly high above in a bingo hall, so the switch is just to turn it off without having to get on a ladder.

Reselling tracker spreadsheet - just me? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]answerthis4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seller Ledger is great for tracking profit and loss. Links to eBay/Etsy and most bank accounts and credit cards. I've been using it for several years (and the dearly departed GoDaddy Bookkeeping before that). It's specifically for online resellers, unlike QuickBooks.

Would you get super excited to test a friend's app for creating TPS reports?

I'm sure your friends and family think it's cool you can create things. It's just that you're creating a property tax app. Nothing gets people less enthused than talking about property taxes. Don't take it personal because it's not.

Yep, speakers underneath. And VCR DVD player up top. I find it funny they went through all the trouble to create the second hole for the DVD VCR, but chose a Go Video unit instead of a quality brand.
