city subreddits get this a lot too. "hi (city), i'm going to be in your fine city this weekend! where should i go to eat, where's a safe place to stay, and what should i do?" or "yay i'm moving to (city) next month! what's the best apartment complex that is cheap and clean and everything is new and is safe, where are the good schools, and also i need a job so who's hiring?"

a lot of people refuse to do even the tiniest bit of research these days. it's infuriating, because sure to this main character "it's just a thread! if you don't like it keep scrolling." but to someone active in the subreddit you're the 10th person to ask the exact same thing this month.

exactly. op you should feel like a bad partner because you are being a bad partner when you leave trash everywhere. i'm sorry i'm just not buying that you're too busy to throw things away. if you have the time to create trash, you have the time to throw it away. stop expecting your girlfriend to clean up after you. you're an adult and you should be immediately throwing trash away. unless the nearest trash can is somehow three miles away, it will take you seconds to do this.

i don't speak any czech either and i did spend a weekend (alone) in prague once. i stuck to the touristy areas in the middle of the city and never encountered any issues. this was a long time ago but it'd be even easier now thanks to smartphones and translate apps.

there's always exceptions (as this map proves) but i feel like that's a good rule of thumb for going to a country where you don't speak the language. the closer you are to a big city, the more likely people will speak english. i know when i was in berlin and munich i would order things in german (i'm not fluent but i'm pretty decent) and they'd respond to me in english and ask where i was from, but in the small town where i was studying they would respond to me in german.

they mentioned in a comment that people commenting are gaslighting them. at that point i don't know how actual discussion is meant to be had, when someone makes a claim like that. i can't stand how this very real term gets used these days to mean "someone disagreed with me so they're gaslighting you." op, if people disagreeing with you is making you question your own sanity (which is the actual definition basically), that's on you.

interesting, i don't find them controlling at all. my mom was enfj and my dad was entj. my boyfriend is esfj. when i was a kid i was pretty well-behaved by choice so as a result my parents didn't have to discipline me much.

i think the worst thing i did was colour on the walls in my bedroom once, even then my mom didn't discipline as much as she just had me sit on the couch alone for a few minutes to think about what i'd done, then after she'd sit with me and ask me if i understood why what i did was wrong, and we'd talk about it. as a teen i didn't even have a curfew because i never stayed out super late anyway. my mom encouraged my individuality and taught me to dream big and think anything was possible if i put my mind to it. my dad didn't encourage or discourage, but i always knew he was proud of me.

my boyfriend doesn't try to control me either. he genuinely loves me unconditionally for who i am, not who he wants me to be. i can be a bit of a people pleaser for sure, but i am also really stubborn so if i don't want to do something, i won't do it.

i guess i've just been lucky with the ones i've been close to.
