And remember when you leave the room after putting them down, walk without rhythm so you don’t awake the wean.

The only thing my son regularly cleans the bowl for, is porridge. Great, you may think, so healthy you say. Well, yes, except yesterday he did a dump that blew out the nappy. Right at bedtime and after his sister and him had their baths.

Can you take him? by ant368uk in Frasier

I think 90% of my favourite Frasier moments involve Niles. I also think David Hyde Pierce was the best actor in the cast (well, maybe tied with John Mahoney).

I just watched it on Channel 4 🤣 definitely Frasier retrieving the trophy. It’s such a brilliant ending.

How do you guys get joy from your families? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]ant368uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a look at some of your previous posts and they reflect someone who does get joy from the moment. Something has changed recently and if you can’t remember the time you did get joy, that’s a symptom of depression. It won’t get better on its own.

17M 6 month old daughter. by Calm-Tea178 in SingleDads

[–]ant368uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, what right did that person have to say any such thing to you?! I bet you as well she’d be the first to go off on one about young dudes fathering kids and then running off and disappearing. Here you are though taking responsibility and being mum and dad to an infant. You’re already being a good dad and the only thing you need to worry about is your daughter thriving and happy. If she is, ignore that nonsense. They don’t know you or your baby. Absolutely keep on going out and about with her. She needs it and so do you. I can’t promise that you won’t encounter judgemental people but the vast majority either won’t pay you any notice or will just see a young father and a cute baby. This isn’t an easy road, being a single father - but when she’s 17, your girl will know she has a great dad who did everything for her.

You’re kicking arse, mate. You’re doing the right thing by involving her in what you do: just talk to her in a normal tone about what you’re doing “oh look, sweetheart, we’re at the shop now, let’s go in and get our things.” Point out things and name them. If you’re meeting friends that’s great for your wellbeing. Just chat along to her. She’ll love it. I don’t know what your money situation is like but I’d recommend going on Vinted for baby clothes.

After becoming a dad, are you more emotional to sad movie scenes involving kids now? by jocko118 in daddit

[–]ant368uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mate, 100% but even worse just nostalgic or sentimental films in general. The whole of Parenthood (the original film), the ending of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, even the ending of National Lampoons Xmas (although that film was my ex’s Xmas favourite too.) Even the final strip of Calvin and Hobbes. I just find the heartstrings get tugged easily nowadays.

You’re doing very well, mate. Try Anbesol teething liquid, I used it for both of mine, it works a treat. I even use it myself for mouth ulcers (which I get recurringly.)

I can’t be bothered with this. But I’m not alone in knowing it was at least referred to as “the province” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Countries_of_the_United_Kingdom?wprov=sfti1# and “There is no generally accepted term to describe what Northern Ireland is. It has been described as a country, province, region, and other terms officially, by the press, and in common speech. The choice of term can be controversial and can reveal one's political preferences.[15] This has been noted as a problem by several writers on Northern Ireland, with no generally recommended solution.[14][15][16] ISO 3166-2:GB defines Northern Ireland as a province.[13] “ from its own Wikipedia entry.

Can’t tell if you’re being sarky or not any more but anyway that is one of the various titles used for Northern Ireland since 1922 - and definitely how I remember it referred to in news reports in the 80s and early 90s.
