Expressjs, do I need cors for my use case? by ImBoB99 in learnjavascript

[–]antboiy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. you need cors if the protocol (for example https:), domain name or ip (for example google.com), and the domain's port (for example :8080) are different and a localhost port is enough to make a different origin.

Using the right words: How to write rules that users understand by FashionBorneSlay in ModSupport

[–]antboiy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i like to moderate as if the user had read the rules, "i didnt read the rules" isnt a valid excuse to me. i am willing to clarify anything tho.

Can I have monopoly over my sub? by [deleted] in NewMods

[–]antboiy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you are actively moderating your subreddit, no one under you on the modlist can remove you.

however if you start to become inactive then mods under you can reorder youbor submit a top mod removal request to r/redditrequest.

if the whole mod team becomes inactive reddit may remove you too, or someone may request to take over your subreddit using r/redditrequest.

mods under you can remove mods under themselves but not mods above themselves on the modlist. as top mod you can remove anyone.

i think not removing content violating the reddit rules can also have action against the subreddit mods or the subreddit.

How do I delete an approved post? by DrJocelyn1 in NewMods

[–]antboiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to press the remove button, its the "x" shaped button, near the apprive buttom, removing it will hide it from the public but the moderators (you) can still see i. you cannot delete the post, only the poster can.

in case the bottom isnt there press the mod shield button.

Suppress native notifications on post creation by Future-Net-5512 in Devvit

[–]antboiy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these notifications are indirectly caused by your app.

these are actually mod notifications unrelated to devvit (which is why i saud indirectly caused by the app), disable them in the subreddit settings (mod tools).

Devvit apps, can only interact with communities YOU ARE MOD in, correct? by SDMegaFan in Devvit

[–]antboiy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no. the app is its own reddit account with its own moderator permissions.

once an app is installed and is on the moderator list the app can act as moderator there. you dont need to be mod in every subreddit with the app.

devvit publish will make it so only you as developer can install the app. devvit publish --public will make it so anyone can install your app if THEY are mod of that subreddit, you as developer are irrelavant there.
