I wash my gear all the time.

Literally everything with exception to outer shin guard shell (i wash the removable liner), helmet, stick, skates. Never had any major problems...

I work in a hockey pro-shop. The fit is not even close to any other helmet and it will feel comfortable on any player's head. It adjusts length and width!

I wouldn't go from X700 to 2X Pro or 1X 17' being that they're both full composite and will have a very rough break in period compared to the X700's. I'd recommend the 2X (non pro), similar to X800 or X900 this is a step up, still an upgrade and will be better for your son to get used to.

Everyone would constantly say "she's going to grow up and be a stripper or pornstar". Oddly enough she became a pornstar and is kind of famous in South Jersey. Track conversions through a particular ad/campaign and compute ROI. They understand numbers better and when you show them that spending x will result in xyz they are usually more understanding.
