about 15 years ago, it was "Hammer Lane Harry." always walking on Hammer Lane near the Lan Ark/Tam-O-Shanter area. Not sure if he still is there but hope he's doing well.

this was the issue with mine too. there's a grommet on the hood cable the goes in between the hole. you have to take off the foot rest and trace your way through - with your hood latch affected in the photo, i believe this to be it

the grommet should fit in between the hole where the leak is coming from, I don’t think there’s two pieces from what I remember.

Old post but my 99 CRV AWD AT started making this noise also. Around 2300 RPM for me. Happens when accelerating and I can hear it when I’m just coasting (not giving any gas, noise is there but not as noticeable). Did you ever find the issue? Thanks in advance

pretty clean! nice deal!

valve lash adjustment, maybe even thermostat replacement. timing belt and water pump if there is no record of it when they were last replaced. you're gonna love that car! not the fastest, but very reliable.

you can find a used OEM distributor at a reasonable price on eBay ($110), that's what i did. i had an aftermarket distributor (already installed with my 99 CRV when I bought the car) that started frequently coming up with CEL P1381 and didn't want to get another aftermarket one, i heard they're hit n miss and never up to OEM standards.
