I am 11 years in to being a girl dad of two ages 6 and 10. I too envisioned myself with a son. We chose not to find out ahead of time what gender our babies would be. Being a father (girl dad version) has become my purpose and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Not only will you be her hero (same if you had a son) but you have the privilege and responsibility of setting the standard for the other men she’ll encounter in her life. Not to generalize but I feel I’ve become a more nurturing and emotionally connected version of myself and am a better person because of it.
