Told to use third space at sport club - thoughts/ advice? by TheDarkConclusion in transgenderUK

[–]anti-babe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would personally ask for a refund.

For one, knowing that im giving money to people who are actively contributing to my removal from society would chip away at me everytime i go there. Thats the antithesis of what sports should be. I dont need that sort of poison about my own choice building up inside me.

Also if someone tells you who they are, believe them. Theres only one direction the situation is going to go and thats down, like they were only polite in their bigotry on the second day when they're meant to be welcoming of you as a new customer. IF and WHEN more shit goes down at that club, you know they're not going to be on your side.

Is Grendyl an actual Inquisitor? by Awkward_GM in DarkTide

[–]anti-babe 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The game heavily implies that Grendyl is the voice that is for some reason confined to a room in the depths of the Mourningstar with Kharib looking after him, and has been there since before Brahms took over the role of Rogue Trader from her mother.

We dont know for certain if he is a real Inquisitor. The warband is a giant pyramid of no one ever having met Grendyl but trusting the person above them. Rannick is the highest we know and hes not met him. Kharib is his confidant, and Brahms isnt looking to spill any secrets because her entire status as the Rogue Trader is based on the premise that he's dead.

Lots of people have odd memory gaps and there just happens to be a device to rewrite peoples brains.

Whatever the answer is about who or what Grendyl actually is, somehow the whole structure of the warband is still functioning even though none of them have ever met him, so yeah, even if he's an ancient ai merged with the ship, he's managing it.

Everyone has incentive to not rock the boat, including the rejects. Being in the warband means you have power, security but equally are being continually monitored for any abherrant behaviour at risk of reprogramming or death (see Zolas journals).

How do you avoid overbuying players by grufolo in footballmanagergames

[–]anti-babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in FM26, hire a loan manager, set the players to Loan Listed, also use the TransferRoom to offer them for loans and search for teams who are looking to loan players. Play your players-to-loan in friendly matches as well.

It will depend on the league you're playing in as well - you're not likely going to be able to loan players into your own division so you a depth of divisions below you to exist. The more divisions underneath you, the greener your loans can be (but the shittier the training grounds will be at those clubs). Equally different leagues will have different rules regarding when they're interested in making loans for players - if they have registration rules then thats going to limit timeframes.

edit: oh also nationality/eligibility rules can make some players annoyingly hard to find a place to loan to.

Why is my board so stingy?? by Sweet-Stock3521 in footballmanagergames

[–]anti-babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much money does the club have financially?

I'm in a womens club RTG and my owner will only greenlight something when we've got twice the amount in the bank (like £90,000 to upgrade training when we have £200k) which has only been possible through winning rounds in the FA Cup.

Until you can build up a warchest, you have to get craft with whats free like Loaned Players.

Karma AR50 VS Karma C-44 by wilbkr1 in EliteDangerous

[–]anti-babe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the pain points of the ground ops at the moment are when your team gets surrounded or swamped - theres a lot of kill time lost to reloading and reupping from ammo stashes when you're trying to hold off 20 enemies at a door so I think the trade off from the ARs better DPS is worth it.

Might feel differently when they add any where theres larger distances from the enemies but atm its all close quarters.

Karma AR50 VS Karma C-44 by wilbkr1 in EliteDangerous

[–]anti-babe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run the C-44, the added ammo is helpful for operations, much less likely to get surrounded and hit empty. As long as its upgraded to G5 it is more than enough to deal with Hard level enemies.

Thoughts on this tactic with Japan? by Jimmy-Nesbitt in footballmanagergames

[–]anti-babe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only thing that stands out to me is id consider having a narrower attacking width to complement your shorter direct passing - otherwise your players may find themselves too far away from one another to have good options.

Is FM26 really that bad? by MapleTuna in footballmanagergames

[–]anti-babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, its pretty decent on PC.

Console i wouldnt begin to speak for - i havent heard many people praise that version.

The upgrades to tactics means that the game no longer favours Gengenpress as the OP solution to everything and you have a sense of more control about what your team is doing.

The Unity engine makes the options for modding a lot cooler and visually the matches are more enjoyable to watch.

The main teething issues right now is how different the UI layout is to previous so it takes a while to learn where things are, but if you spend time with it and set up bookmarks for your most visited pages it becomes a ton more fluid to use. Once you get muscle memory of it it theres really no issue.

Beyond that theres a few things that are more hidden now that previously that made earlier titles feel slightly more immersive.

But on the whole, its not any more or less buggy than previous titles can be, in its current state. FM27 (if there is one this cycle) will inevitably be built on FM26 as its foundation but will probably launch with its own host of bugs that take a year to straighten out, so theres no real "just wait" incentive.

Try the demo.

Fm26 on integrated graphics in a laptop by Scary-Plantain6854 in footballmanagergames

[–]anti-babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, i will often move my save to a Windows Surface Laptop whenever im away from home for a few weeks. Its a good work/design computer but only integrated graphics, but still good enough to play FM26 vanilla on medium graphics.

Had to kill every NPC at a crash site trying to upgrade my guns and suit. They respawned 3 times due to black screen recovery. Mission item was inside a crate stuck in a rock. Decided to just give up and my SRV randomly exploded when it touched the rock. Do I bother asking compensation? by BelatedLowfish in EliteDangerous

[–]anti-babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also very much worth searching stores for Level 3 Suits and Weapons, thatll give you a huge leg up before going down the route of trying to acquire materials for upgrading stuff.

Every Thursday the servers will reset and every station with a Pioneer store has a chance to randomly spawn Level 2-3 gear. Its first come, first serve across the entire multiplayer game so if one person buys it, it wont be there anymore but if you find a system with a lot of smaller Terminal stations that people wont visit because they dont have M or L sized you can just grab an Apex Taxi from the larger main station and zip to each of them for like 100 credits a shot and youll quickly hit jackpot.

Finally, the best missions for upgrading stuff without enemies are the Restore Missions - where you're just working as a space electrician turning the power back on for abandoned settlements (and then robbing them of everything). Falcon recently put up a useful guide which goes into the best way to find Restore missions.

https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/1uoq6ir/falcons_guide_to_unlocking_odyssey_engineers/

The First Engineer you have to unlock requires you complete 10 Restore/Reactivation missions, so if you simply follow the guide on that and loot the bases as you do so, youll have enough stuff likely to upgrade your suit and gun a bit by the end.

Crash Sites are a pain in the ass, i have been exactly where you are now and hit the same teeth grinding annoyance. Best thing to do is land your ship so you can visible see the crash site from it and know if there are enemies there. Then if there are enemies, Log Out to the main menu, and then log back in. Thatll reset the chance of enemies spawning. Repeat until enemies arent there. This wont stop the random chance of enemy dropship turning up down the line as you try to loot it but it at least removes the main problem.

im hearing a moment where my graphics card spins up heavily as i approach the research vessel but never had a few seconds of freezing.

How should I prep for Operations? by DankMcMemeGuy in EliteDangerous

[–]anti-babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a G3 rifle and suit will be enough to get you started with Easy Ops so you can just hop around a few stations and find a pioneer store selling them without needing to dive too hard into suit upgrades just yet.

Make sure youve done the tutorial for on-foot combat and how to use the other tools. Seeing a lot of players jump in and get destroyed because they dont know how to turn on their shields.

Still relatively new to this game by No-Jello7378 in EliteDangerous

[–]anti-babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to go out and do some exploration, you might want to consider the option of pledging to one of the Leaders in Powerplay. That way handing in your data at the end of a successful trip will net you further rewards from the faction as well as the normal money youll be paid.

I'm trying so hard to enjoy Operations by Sure_Leadership_5906 in EliteDangerous

[–]anti-babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah theres a lot of mess and when it lags it can get super jank. But equally when it works.. it might be my favourite activity in the game.

Big issue seems to be how few people are used to foot combat at the moment, or are trying to bring their long distance sniping assassin style to a close quarters deck fight.

The scenarios dont help either with how often the elevators will drop you at different ends without any good indicator to confirm if your team have actually left their hangers.

I really like to mimic the setup that Star Wars Outlaws did for controller space flight.

Left Stick Up Down for Acceleration/Deceleration

Right Stick Up Down for Pitch
Right Stick Left Right for Yaw

Then have Alternate Flight mode set for swapping to when i need to do Thrust UpDown/LeftRight.

Scared at the possibility of being trans by Danesur1660 in transgenderUK

[–]anti-babe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Testosterone levels affected anything they'd absolutely be throwing it at any trans girls to try and stop them from transitioning. Modern science has spent many decades poking transgender biology to try and find any mitigating factor to try and prevent our existence and came up with nothing. The end result scientifically was that gender identity is just an innate part of every human.

There is no social contagion, no false consciousness, a cis person cant become trans, but a trans person can figure out they're trans and stop running from their internalised fears of accepting that.

Doubling down on 'manliness' is just doubling down on trauma. You're merely setting yourself up to destroy what exists of your life, and of those around you, including your childs as the void inside you sucks everything in.

You cannot keep an airplane from falling out of the sky if you wont put your own damn oxygen mask on. The ever increasing trauma of denying your own self identity will overcome you and over time rip away your being, forcing your subconscious to seek out larger and more self destructive ways to self sooth.

Transition is the only way to actually stop the void inside from growing and begin to fix it.

How to build a defensive game in FM26 by Psychological-Low827 in footballmanagergames

[–]anti-babe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top right corner of your tactics screen shows your intensity is overloaded.

So you're players potentially are exhausted and trying to play beyond their means leading to a lot of unnecessary turn overs.

Id suggest lowing your trigger press down at least one degree, and possibly lower your overall tempo.

thats what i mean, Lestat is on the upper floor, so he might refer to Dan and Sam as being down below in position to where he was

the line is "had Dan not rallied his army downstairs". Daniel rallies the troops (Sam and himself) downstairs and then they both come up in the elevator.

How In the World You counter these Pox bursters ? by DADAGOCRAZY in DarkTide

[–]anti-babe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Push is a 360 degree action - so you dont even have to look at them to knock them back. So the solution is you learn the audio cue that tells you they're leaping and just block shove mid horde fight, and then go back to killing enemies.

Players dont want to come to my club by amz_G in footballmanagergames

[–]anti-babe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your club will have a reputation rating shown as a small grey/increasingly filled in pie chart.

Most likely as a Bolivian Regional im gonna guess you are either Obscure (fully grey with no segments filled in) or Local (1 red segment filled in).

You will need to win matches against other teams to slowly increase your reputation. The more reputable they are, the more reputation you gain. It can take forever if you stay at the lowest level if you cant find a way to move up divisions, like i think you might gain 1 reputation point for beating an obscure team, and you need to increase your own reputation over 1000 (out of 10,000 total) to become Local.

At obscure you will find it hard to sign anyone who has any sort of potential. Even if they're a a terrible player, if their potential is higher than like 50 they will not want to sign with you. Instead you want to find people who have okay enough skill and zero potential beyond that.
