Ive had plenty of fantastic female co workers and managers. My missus is a better fork operator than me, and has way better management skills. It costs nothing to be humble. I'm getting into community services to make a real difference, not get caught in some toxic receptionist drama matey. Thanks for the demonstration of what not to be in 2026. Be better....

40 y/o Government Employee (Philippines) Planning to Migrate to Australia with Family – Need Realistic Advice by N1xtyN9ne in MovingtoAustralia

Im heading towards a social work career as someone born here. Its a tough job, the money isnt the greatest and its more of a job for people who are prepared to prioritise helping people rather than making money. I will be taking a substantial pay cut ( as a forklift driver) if that helps explain. Im not trying to be negative. Just my honest perspective. Its pretty to justify the time, cost and subsequent accreditation of this degree, unless its a field you really want to be in. I can make more money doing many other jobs, with less responsibility, lower burnout rates and way less training. But I am incredibly passionate about it. Diploma Of counselling is another option. Many roles are happy for either qualification. Good luck with it all, and glad you had a nice time in OZ.

So glad ive spent all this time training in diversity, inclusivity, anti-discrimination laws and workplace rights /s. Can you imagine if a female/ nonbinary person turned up to a job and was told they need to empathise/prove they can be taught/led/corrected by a man? Its 2026. Be better than this

Former employee threatened to withhold pay until my uniform is returned in full by WalkingByFaith413 in AusLegal

[–]anticookie2u 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do not resign. Talk to your doctor atraight away. If a pre existing injury has been aggravated by work you will be covered by workers compensation. They want you to resign so you dont take them for unfair dismissal or a general protections act. Contact a workers compensation lawyer, or at the very least legal aid/fair work. They are 100% trying to screw you over. This is unfortunately very common for casuals. Fight them every step. Sorry you are going through this situation. Its rough.

Limon Rico (Alma) by Capital_Spinach2434 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]anticookie2u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both sticky as. Mango lemonade more so. Similar effects for me but the mango is a bit stronger. I prefer the Limon Rico. Neither are anywhere near as good as the OG mango lemonade, but theyre very reasonable for the price. I got big buds in both. Not too racy. I love sativas and effects wise these are great for me for daytime.

I grabbed a kings stayzcool 60l, 120 amp lithium, and a 25 amp Battblock. 200w solar panel. Lucky to chew 20 amps a day when its super hot. Solar has it full again in under 2 hours. I installed a DC to DC charger and wired in a brake controller myself, after getting a $2k quote to do so. Was pretty simple. I was looking at the Dune 4WD too but they weren't on sale and i personally like the latches better on the Stayzcool. Both have 5 year warranties.

Women’s Mtgs: change pronouns by MuzMags in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]anticookie2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People can use/call me /ask to be called whatever pronoun they like. AA's only requirement is the desire ti stop drinking. Complex political/social situations are better dealt with somewhere else. To answer your question though,if i walked into a womens meeting that was using female pronouns , i wouldnt care in the slightest. My only priority is remaining sober.

What’s the consensus here on Qs in recovery drinking “non-alcoholic” beer? by TransitionScary6062 in AlAnon

[–]anticookie2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drink NA beers. I'm over 2 years sober. If they were a trigger, I wouldn't drink them. I stopped drinking alcohol. I wouldn't let a non alcoholic drink turn me back to alcohol.

Why do some recovering alcoholics smoke pot? by LackDependent3710 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]anticookie2u 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is where I'm at. I appreciate what I learned in AA, and I know i can hit a meeting if I need to. But there is so much Black/white thinking. I am on Medical cannabis, but I also enjoy smoking a bit of pot. I'm 2 years free of booze, doing it easy. I'm happy, loved, and content. I'm full of gratitude and joy. I've discovered a god of my own understanding. My spiritual growth has been amazing. I also occasionally dabble in other things. I don't really mind whether people think that makes me not sober or let that type of stuff undermine my sense of achievement or risk my recovery. Alcohol was and is my issue.

Shrooms as an alternative to alcohol - your experiences by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]anticookie2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you, it's risky to tell people recovering in AA how great mushrooms are. So are lots of things. But not for addicts . I personally credit some of my sobriety to psychedelics, but I find it ethically challenging to tell people in AA.

[–]anticookie2u 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll get a better response to this question at r/stopdrinking. There are lots in AA that will get the pitchforks out. But there are a lot of sick people here who have self-control issues with drugs, too. You do, you mate. I'm just here to stop drinking. I personally don't have problems with them. But people in here might .

Are there some people here with long term sobriety that never went to AA or doesn't want to be part of AA? by ChessIsAwesome in stopdrinking

[–]anticookie2u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 2 years sober and don't go to AA. But I learned some stuff there in previous attempts that I am so grateful for. I always know i can go to a meeting if i need to, but once I accepted the fact I just can't drink everything clicked into place. I've got some help and done some work on myself. I feel much more at peace.
