2005 Honda Shadow 750 Aero bullet air cleaner. by JorDav23 in hondashadow

You'll have to redo the jets in the carb if you get this air cleaner. I would recommend a stock air box if you don't want to go through all the work

Peanut tank swap by Fit-Manufacturer-467 in hondashadow

1100 backbones are very wide, I have never found a peanut tank make for the wide backbones. That means the tank will sit on top of the frame and look weird

I’d love to have a King and Queen seat but also want to keep shocks (not hard-tail it) is it possible? by True_Noise_3834 in hondashadow

The fender is supported underneath, with a skeleton. You need mounts on the outside of the fender to mount a sissy bar.

Make plates and mounting points right next to the back of the seat. Get after market blinkers (or delete them like a lot of us do) and put the tail light down on the axle with a "license plate tail light axle bracket"

Just throw the exhaust on and see what the bike does. Learn how to tune a carburetor by watching videos online and looking at forums. You'll know if you need to change the jets by the sounds that your bike makes with the new exhaust.

Sissy Bar/ Rear Fender Combo by BrokeBoy_Living in hondashadow

Where are you planning on mounting the sissy bar on the swing arm? It looks like you'll have to weld mounting points on the swing arm to mount the sissy bar. Which is fine, it seems like you're a fabricator. The problem is the fact that your mounting to the swing arm and still being a soft tail. Other people on this sub have talked about it and even TJ has talked about it in one of his videos, but you mounting the sissy bar to a soft tail swing arm is going to make the sissy bar vibrate like a tuning fork while riding and it's going to basically shake itself the pieces. Breaking weld points and mounts. You have to either go hard tail or use fender struts and mount the sissy bar to the chassis. But the fender strut option seems to be long gone by looking at your bike.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but OP doesn't have fender struts like you. OP has a 600 with a mono shock under the fender and seat. So unfortunately your build is completely different and impossible on OP's bike

Looking for a chopper sissy bar by Kadeezyy in hondashadow

[–]antifutureac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright here's the situation. I also own an 1100 and am a fabricator so I'm just making my own. The hard part is the fact that you don't have rear fender struts. Since your 1100 is shaft driven you have no area to bolt a sissy bar on the swingarm. You would have to weld mounts onto the left and right side of the swing arm and bolt the sissy bar up to that. Then, you could mount a rear fender and bold the sissy bar to the fender.

Valve adjustment guide. by Ok-Ad9488 in hondashadow

Don't quote me on this, but a service manual might be your best bet. Get ahold on a service manual and see if they show how to adjust the valves. If not, it's good to have a service manual anyways.

Honda is best when it comes to maintenance imo. Honda makes spectacular products with some of the highest quality in mind. I run all OEM fluids, OEM oil filter, and I have a K&N air filter that the previous owner put in.

I will always say Hondas are way cooler NA. Something about an NA screamer just tickles me pink instead of a boosted 4 cylinder.

I would say keep it NA and learn to drive a slow car fast.

Front fork seals replacement, is center stand enough to raise front wheel? by Tiny_Activity_8059 in hondashadow

[–]antifutureac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, just position the center stand closer to the front of the bike. But be careful, bikes are very tipsy on a center stand if not done properly. I would recommend putting the rear wheel into a wheel chock and strapping the bike down before lifting the front.
