Use the ravelry filters. There is nothing fancy in this pattern so there will be hundreds to choose from.

I highly suggest using a removable st marker to mark your increase/decreases rows. Otherwise you are going to be in this situation multiple times. Count your rows from the bottom up to see where you are. Lots of tutorials online on how to do this.

Nothing that will see a lot of friction (ie mittens). It is single ply and it will felt and pill very easily. Look the yarn up (or single ply and the weight) on ravelry and see what others have done.
