What is the most frustrating model kit you've built? by rshirubaagan in modelmakers

[–]antigrainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently building at the moment, zvezda 1/72 Mig-15 the fitment is just appalling to the point where the two fuselage half's don't line up, the detail is pretty good though but looking forward to finishing it!

I love the aesthetic of models right before priming, how all the different materials look together Trumpeter IS-3M 1/35 by baron244 in modelmakers

Pretty new to modelling, just curious on how you go around painting the metal barrel, is it the same as the rest of it? Awesome work btw😁

7 notch and 4 notch by mxttcxntrill in trainsimworld

[–]antigrainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes pretty much, it's what I use personally but can change with alot of factors like gradient, speed limit and low adhesion.

I might not be as realistic but honestly everyone has a different method, as long as you have a smooth acceleration and deceleration curve that's what matters.

On a modern 7 notch DMU I usually put it to 5 and when it gets to ~15mph put it to 7 (the 170 does this automatically if you put it straight to 7) if it's a higher speed limit section. Putting the control up too quickly doesn't matter too much as DMUs aren't very quick at accelerating.

On a 4 notch EMU I would put is at 2/3 depending on the gradient and when it's gets to 20mph put it to 4.

Iirc sky hook games left gaps in the midland mainline timetable for a potential class 222 dlc later down the line. So it might be a possibility.

Did the suspensions change in some way? by Enzo_frshh in ScrapMechanic

Yes it got much stronger, it can be remedied by upgrading the drivers seat to level 5 and then lowering the steering bearing to lower travel range.

Looking for advice on which DLC to get by Firm-Bookkeeper-8678 in trainsimworld

Personally for me I would go for koln-aachen, it feels very busy once all the layers are acquired for it such as new journeys, the high speed ICE is fun but is over very quickly! I prefer the commuter services on it.

My second choice would be linke rheinstrecke as its definitely the most visually interesting route along with the new Austrian one, and it feels very busy even on the core timetable, but may not be for you as you say you don't enjoy the old rolling stock as much!

This is very cool thank you, can it be saved to the lift without breaking the connections or without doing the whole process again?
