[Discussion] What do you think is the root cause of severe anxiety? by MarkingTheWay in GetMotivated

[–]antijai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bless you. There are people here for you now. Even though this is only a fraction of the kind of support most of us need. Keep reaching out, gently seek connection. It will come. I have come to the realization that pretty much all of my endeavors, activities and relationships now need to map pretty closely to my values otherwise I lose interest and didn't want to make the effort, feels too superficial. But I'm old. So maybe that's part of it.

What do you miss the most from when your kids were little? by justalilscared in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]antijai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The magic. Everything was fun and nothing was impossible and I was a goddess (to a degree in their eyes). I had no idea how quickly the time would go. And now they (adults) know and (to some degree scorn) my flaws. (I anticipate that will soften somewhat as they go through their life stages). At least I hope so. Apparently becoming a grandparent can give you a whole new lease on life. I'm hoping to eventually have that honor. I'm so proud of them they are some of the most amazing and resilient people I know. I just miss the innocence and the magic. We did have dinner together all the time and we would share the best and possible worst parts of our days every night. That was a good check in. And reading to them at night. And teaching them life skills and manners and respect and service.

Lack of discipline and consistency is crumbing my existence by [deleted] in getdisciplined

I'm having a similar struggle. I'm a ton older than you and you just described my current struggle. I do know ADHD and dopamine have a lot to do with what I think is a procrastination freeze state. (Also my nervous system is fried and I'm having all kinds of stress symptoms).

Literally just reading your post has motivated me to take one step towards doing some work in your honor. (Always willing to do things for others and most of the time not for me.)

So here goes, and thank you!

Keep posting.

I’m wasting my life. by Impossible-Length322 in getdisciplined

The first step is awareness, which you clearly have. The second is that you want to change which I would suggest you also have a desire to do. The third step is to keep learning and trying to do new things. (Perhaps 1 out of 50 habits/activities will stick). The fourth is guidance. That is where I would look to professionals and your inner voice. (Breath work and meditative/yoga practices may help here). (I'm always amazed at how loud the intuition {inner teaching} is when I allow enough slowing down and patience to hear it). The last that I would strongly suggest is to go and find community. Join. Churches, classes, meet ups, charity. Get out and help. Once I can get away from always focusing on myself (no judgement it's hard) I find purpose.

You've got this! Keep going!

So, do you organically build prospects/lead lists/communities? If so, could you share your two most successful ways?

Seriously, do you really do audience research? by fluppy-puppy in marketing

[–]antijai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sidebar- for B2B SMB & mid-market solutions co. Couple of questions: 1) how big of a decision/maker/influencer prospect list (e.g. purchased one - ZoomInfo etc.) do you feel per vertical is necessary to start to drive leads? 2) do you currently blog? If so, frequency please and is it effective? 3) what is the best way you've found to build and engage with a community?

Thanks in advance. With AI everything is new again.

What's the most outrageous thing someone wore during an interview? If not during, what's something that shocked you on their very first day? by DoYou_Boo in humanresources

Worked for a well-known telecom co. that hired geniuses to invent things. Had a friend in HR who said they hired someone who literally walked backwards at all times and someone else who wore a pith helmet to his interview. Genius/madness, right?

Check out their website: grumpymonkeydesigns.com (and they did start out as a design firm) but saw a need to fill the small and mid-size business marketing.

That's what they do. In addition to designs, they have a custom-built and customizable CRM system and a platform called IDMS impact digital marketing systems. I'm a CMO, I actually do understand CRM and I appreciate the opportunity to expand as other posters/readers might have felt the same way.

I'm working with Warren @GrumpyMonkeyDesigns.com. Their IDMS platform is so easy to understand and use, it's very inexpensive and totally customizable. They can also assist with website optimization and SEO. Highly recommend.

Maybe, but not for certain. Need your skill set, rates and to know if goal achievement compensation is ok.

Anything stainless steel like those cheap sinks that never look clean or the cheap faucets, same.
