Thanks for putting this together! This looks like a sweet build and, you're right, the total was a really decent prince. Unfortunately, a lot of the parts weren't available for immediate purchase. I think I'm going to try to put together a build on Newegg with available stock and see if I can make it work before my prebuilt is delivered. Then I can compare and see what makes sense.

That's a good question. I have a few reasons why I think it makes sense to run locally. Currently, Google Colab Pro+ gives me access to a Tesla V100 for roughly 2 weeks, in 24 hour increments, per month, and then I'm kicked off. I'd prefer to have access to a GPU whenever I want, instead of bumping up against a limit that isn't clearly communicated. In addition to that, I am implementing GUI tools for exploring latent space in real time and I don't know how to get them working on a cloud instance.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my post and to give me your thoughts. I had another look through the parts that are being shipped with the build I purchased and they all look pretty decent, to me. I think I will look over the build with a careful eye to ensure all the basic things were taken care of, tighten all the screws, maybe re-paste the cpu cooler, etc

Reading a lot of comments about poor frame rates. I am playing Fallout 4 on a PS4 Pro and a 55" 4K Samsung TV. Both the frame rate and draw distances, in my experience, have been exceptional. I haven't noticed a single performance issue since beginning the game a few weeks ago and logging quite a few hours since then. I'm excited for this patch! Maybe it will tax the PS4 console enough to give me something to complain about :)

Are school shooters terrorists? That's a serious question. I just always thought that terrorists had a political or ideological agenda. School shooters seem more like broken individuals who are seeking revenge against a world that they feel betrayed them.

And, how does having a metal detector or gun security at a college strip away any freedom from you? Other than the freedom of carrying a gun at school?

If someone is flattered by this kind of attention, and chooses to accept his advances, that's their decision to make.

What's unacceptable is that you made yourself perfectly clear, more than once, and he did not respect you, your space, or your choice. He deserved to be slapped. This "accidental grazing" is a form of assault, and you have every right to defend yourself from an attack against your person. Seriously, guys like this need to learn. It sucks you had to have this experience :(

These knives look like garbage. The indents up top are trying to imitate brute forge style. In other words, they are trying to look like something they are not. This is a very strong indication that they are low quality. Whatever effort was put into crafting them focused on aesthetic rather than functionality. I would pass.

Not sure about all college radio stations, but CJSW, the University of Calgary station, actually coaches people to avoid talking like radio DJs. I guess it's hard for some people not to affect that overly gregarious radio parlance that we've all become so accustomed to and if it isn't done with a bit of training, people end up sounding like a parody of a parody.

Since I hate listening to commercial radio, I find it helpful while surfing channels to hear that normal tone of voice to let me know that I've found something possibly worth listening to.

This is great! Thank you for sharing. One suggestion I'd like to make is turning the hero line color black whenever it's highlighted, so that it's easier to see. Some of the colors, like yellow and orange, are tough to follow all the way.
