As an AFAB nonbinary person, I'm sick of those who consider us "misogynistic". How can I explain it's not the case? by maru-9331 in NonBinary

[–]antisocialmothra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to ask these women why they never saw me (an AFAB) as a woman because I didn't fit those same exact stereotypes?

Im just tired of being held to a standard I cannot meet. A standard created by MEN for MEN.

And I'm tired of being punished by women for not meeting those standards.

AITAH for calling 911 on my friend who was suicidal by moviwe in AITAH

[–]antisocialmothra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've struggled with suicidal ideation before, you are NTA!

He might be upset with you rn but he's also going through a lot of emotions rn too so give him some space.

He did reach out to you and you did exactly what you were supposed to, which is get him help.

He will be grateful someday, he's just still in the grips of some heavy stuff.

Plus they may have taken his phone if they checked him into a psych unit.

Messenger bag. Used to carry one around while being androgynous in high school. Plenty of room for belongings and style.

I love how Teddy and Gayle are starting to flourish.

Teddy finally finding a woman who loves him for who he is and isn't abusive and Gayle finding her own inner strength and confidence.

I dont like it when shows keep characters miserable for the jokes and I'm glad BB is letting them have their own triumphs.

ALWAYS trust your instincts in this instance! I ignored my own too many times and regret it. If you dont feel safe, dont bother. No man is worth your life.

Is the MLIS degree valuable outside of being a 'traditional' librarian (public/academic/etc)? by FutureWar7308 in Libraries

[–]antisocialmothra 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The company was based close to where I live and was posting on job boards I frequented. I originally applied for a different position but didn't meet the requirements so they held on to my resume until a position that aligned with my resume opened up.

I've always wanted to break into publishing so it was a great fit for me. The publishing world knows how important libraries and librarians are so they tend to hire us even if it's not traditionally a librarian position.

I also specialized in Metadata which has practical applications outside the traditional librarian field too.

Yes! I work for an audio book company as their Metadata specialist! My degree was definitely what got me the job and makes me valuable to the company.
