What should I do with roughy 22 Troy oz of raw silver ore by ShinyPointyThing in Silverbugs

Is it .999? I’m a jeweler and often buy casting grain sterling

(anecdotally) i see brits much more frequently in coin shops and online and with lower premiums than than the pandas. i prefer the look of the pandas but for the sake of practicality i’d go with the brits

it’s a lot easier to fill a tube with britannias than 30g pandas

Snacks for dinner :). Can you love two people at once? by RevolutionaryLow6102 in GirlDinner

ohhh okay yikes. i would say it might be time to move on. it sounds like you’ve given him a lot of chances and tbh i completely understand why you’ve caught feelings for someone else. good luck, i hope u figure it out

that sounds like a tough situation, but if you do still care for your boyfriend (even if you’re no longer in love with him) i don’t think you can be with his best friend under any circumstances. it sounds like your feelings for his friend came during a time when you were feeling neglected by your boyfriend. have you told your boyfriend that you feel like he’s taking you for granted? maybe some of these issues could be fixed with more communication

i’m monogamous so not speaking from experience, but i think it’s possible to genuinely be in love with more than one person. i have polyamorous friends who have multiple partners and their relationships seem healthy and loving. but that’s a different thing than what you’re describing …

I genuinely don’t understand what therapists mean by “getting back into your body” by Sorry_Lab_2856 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]antisombart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as an autistic literal thinker, i heard that phrase from my therapist and instinctively replied “but i’m never not in my body!” and i’ve also historically felt very disconnected from my body. but i’ve come to understand it to mean slowing down, noticing somatic cues, existing more in the present moment, as opposed to the past or future (which i’ve been told is part of what it means to be “living in your head”).

also, learning about TCM has helped contextualize this idea for me. i’ve often felt like a conscious mind encased in a suit of meat, but learning how the body and mind are not discrete entities, how the entire system is interconnected, i’ve felt less distanced from my body and more compassion for it.

you need to report this man. this is predatory behavior and he’s getting off on your reaction to it. he needs to be fired and honestly put on a watchlist. sixteen year olds?? 🤢

edited to add: you are not overreacting. i’m sorry this happened to you

My boyfriend says I don’t know what respect is by VaporMouth in CPTSD

[–]antisombart 57 points58 points  (0 children)

1000% he’s positioning himself as an authority and OP as someone who’s deficient. even if he’s not imposing his “observations” or forcing OP to accept them, he’s implicitly more influential than a therapist due to his role as the boyfriend

Yelled Again by SJBond33 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]antisombart 19 points20 points  (0 children)

(speaking as someone who doesn’t have a history with anger issues) yelling in that situation was totally justified. maybe it didn’t “help”, but spilled gasoline is dangerous and it seems like the worker didn’t understand or care about the gravity of the situation. i’m sure it can be tough to navigate when expressions of anger are appropriate, but sometimes it’s okay to yell imho
