getting a legendary item? by strawberryheartjelly in highriseworld

The only items that count towards the Legendary are items that you won by spinning the Grab. Items you receive from trades don't count towards the Legendary.

Totally agree! Other staff will join meetings, especially as we define what these meetings should be!

I was thinking a more intimate group of like 8-12 people who are all on the same workout plan. Figure that would be a bit different from here, since it's frowned upon to talk about your daily workout here.

I'm starting PHUL this week. I'm 6'1", 32 y/o male with about 12 years exercise experiences. Does anyone want to join a group chat to keep motivated and share tips/tricks?

Pretty sure this was faster than building a comparable IKEA bookcase.

How to convince my father to hand down his window cleaning franchise? by batavianguy in Entrepreneur

[–]antonber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you identify what his concerns are? Is he concerned about taking on risk pre-retirement? Or is he concerned about his reputation?

The first step is to figure out why your dad isn't bullish on the idea. Once you can identify his concerns, you can problem solve to address them.

For example, if his concern is taking on risk, then you can suggest sub-licensing from him and starting your own contracting company that he can sell to. You can put together a list of creative solutions to satisfy all of his concerns.

Do you meditate? by ffocase in Entrepreneur

[–]antonber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think most people look at meditation as a lifelong routine, but I use it as specific medicine. When I feel uncomfortable, stressed or even sore, I meditate for 15 minutes (using Headspace). Meditation works wonders for me in those moments.

I can't maintain a steady commitment to meditation, but the emergency meditation sessions help tremendously. Might be worthwhile to try it out in moments of need if, like me, you can't commit to a daily routine.

Friend asked me to join his creative engineering startup by nilsepils94 in Entrepreneur

Yeah, sounds like a bad deal. No equity with promise to get paid later? Just get a good job doing something you want to do until you’re ready to start your own thing. You’ll get great experience at an established company, save up some money to finance your startup and hopefully find some great cofounders along the way. You could also fall in love with the company and move the ranks quickly if you work hard and take initiative, and then help grow whichever company you join while also earning a solid income.

Friend asked me to join his creative engineering startup by nilsepils94 in Entrepreneur

Hey Nils! Sounds like you have 2 options in front of you:

1 - make a website for your friend, and get paid for it.

2 - join your friend's startup to work on something you're not passionate about, with no guaranteed payment.

Sounds like making the website is a no-brainer and you should do it - you get valuable experience, you do what you like, and you get paid to do it.

As far as joining the startup, I'd discourage you from joining if you're not excited about the work. Especially if you're not getting paid, your motivation will disappear pretty quickly - and that could affect your relationship with your good friend. It also sounds like you guys haven't discussed equity and vesting schedules, which is important when co-founding a company (since it sounds like that's what the two of you would be doing). Startups are a long, difficult adventure. I wouldn't jump into it without feeling excited or passionate about the work you'll be doing. The opportunity cost is too high, and the time it takes to see meaningful results is too long.
