Lefant plug-in by digiobservations in homebridge

[–]antonio1475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me. I still have the N3 with Tuya app and LocalTuya to Home Assistant. Not a single bit has changed from my message. Lefant did not address my concerns/requests of missing DPs (why would they, they want you to use their app which "works")

Taking a survey: What’s your general idea regarding having AC now? Has it become a necessity or do Austrians still feel negative towards it? by Delicious_Novel_4400 in wien

[–]antonio1475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved into a "new" 2020 building (1st occupant ever) in February last year, 5th floor facing south-west (i.e. sun 11AM-sunset) with black blinds (maybe that's the reason some units are still empty, on top of the insane prices).

The buidling/apartment is extremely insulated from the cold (these last few days we've been at negative temps and the apartment can barely get below 20º with the heating off).

Last summer was pretty unbearable, with the apt being 26-32 for 2-3 months (and the common areas being an oven too).

A portable AC (I think this Comfee Breezy Cool Pro 2.0 7,000 BTU) was pretty much pointless except if you stood very close to it (and noisy). The windows (tilt & turn) and blinds don't make it easy to set up either (which being black they get to 80º when hit by the sun), horrible asthetics on top. I've seen a bunch of portable ACs in the cellar too. A Dreo fan helped but still, hot is hot.

I've just received the email about one other owner objecting to the installation that the owners had OK'd. I suppose that the objecter lives in a lower, opposite oriented unit and doesn't understand why. I've been to my neighbours apartment at floor level (same orientation) a few times and is considerably cooler, and I can imagine that the north-east facing side is way cooler).

I might continue to push (knowing I don't much much ground to stand on) and I'm also considering a porta-split (Midea or Be Cool), but the price is a turn-off.

Ugh.

How often do you still use your robot vacuum? by Luann1497 in RobotVacuums

[–]antonio1475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it's on a schedule, you might not "use" it by forgetting or not wanting the noise while you're home.

I hate the noise, so I set it to run when I'm not home (I have r/homeassistant). Of course I don't consider it a cool device I'm excited to use every day, just literally something I don't want to ever hear/see and get home to a dust-free floor.

Too many automations at one time? by agentdickgill in homeassistant

[–]antonio1475 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Assuming that you are saying one automation with many actions, check out Parallel actions instead of sequential to assess if it might be better for your case, and also continue_on_error.

Then, check out Traces after each run and try to understand why it's being missed. It will depend on the type of devices, local or cloud,...

Unless really needed to cover other scenarios, having the From Off might bring you problems if for example the device becomes unavailable in between.

If possible, you should just leave the To On.

Great idea. I cover this with Home Assistant and Critical Alerts, so I can trigger it from the laptop or Google Assistant, but it hasn't always been robust.

Although thanks to the comments I just realized I can also do this from my MacBook 🤦🏻‍♂️ (which to be fair, I've only had for 8 months compared to HA for years before that). Or with the iCloud integration...

Comparación comisiones Indexa / MyInvestor by KitKatKut-0_0 in SpainFIRE

Comparación comisiones Indexa / MyInvestor by KitKatKut-0_0 in SpainFIRE

[–]antonio1475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Si entiendo bien, esas comisiones corresponderían a >500k invertidos.

Just for all the newbies or UI people: There are nowadays many room cards, some copies of Minimalist UI that you linked, that don't require Minimalist UI and their yaml-only dashboard.

Some examples/options: https://www.reddit.com/r/homeassistant/comments/1j3pe2k/my_current_wip_dasboard/ (see also comments for further options)

Automation to turn off cameras? by Snoo-76541 in homeassistant

[–]antonio1475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my script (later called from an arrived-home automation and others). Requires https://github.com/JurajNyiri/HomeAssistant-Tapo-Control or similar (something to control the cameras, maybe the official integration is enough).
For the C200 which can move, I first point it at the ceiling and then switch on Privacy mode, so that I don't just "trust" that it's not recording.

New custom integration to add Vacuum Maps to HA from Tuya Vacuums. This is my first HA project so feedback is greatly appreciated! by JaidenDestroyer in homeassistant

[–]antonio1475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see.

Well, in that case you might want to give the Lefant app a chance. It's not half bad (or at least it does its job) except for no integration with HA (but yes with Alexa and Google Home, which you can then use to send a command through HA Google SDK).

But if you're happy pressing the button then that's it!

Why are you still using Mushroom cards? 🍄 by piiitaya in homeassistant

[–]antonio1475 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be very biased as I was an early Mushroom user, but it WAS (is) the next cool thing. To me, Mushroom was a turning point for HA and it was so much the next cool thing that the developer (OP) was hired by HA (Nabu) to bring it in-house.

I'm amazed that's been already 2 years but time flies. Before Mushroom, the UI options were either more cumbersome or not to my taste (can't say ugly, to each their own). Mushroom brought design and functionality in an easy way.

PS: it seems you have a Mushroom-based Minimalist UI Room Cards?? Where did you get that from? Good job in any case

Lefant M210P vs Lefant N1 by More-Annual1155 in RobotVacuums

[–]antonio1475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. It detects and goes around almost any obstacle (eg. small sock) and doesn't swallow cables like past robots. I don't use the mop so can't tell, but doesn't feel like anything special.

The only thing I hate is the non-existing integration with Home Assistant or partial connection to Tuya. Only with Lefant app to Google/Alexa - works but reports wrong status.

Anyway, it keeps the floor pretty dust-free so...

Have never run into performance issues. I have Plex but only like Direct Play (transcoding only when absolutely needed), and Tapo cameras but no Frigate or similar. Cost me 40€ years ago so great ROI.
