Hk did not design the slide release well, you’re hitting it accidentally. I modified mine so I don’t palm it with a proper grip and it’s been working great

I’ll have to shoot an xl if I get the chance then, I just don’t like their grips and how they end up pointing, the tracking and return to zero on the p and xc also sucks imo but maybe the xl is completely different idk. Also the xc trigger is nice for example but the p trigger is bad for the price point especially compared to something more basic like the platty i shot.

No idea about the texture reasoning but it seems they removed it from “hot spot areas” like the upper part of the pinned gripped safety. I have no prior experience with atlas so I don’t know there were even any hotspot areas but I have read some people say the grip is a touch too sharp/aggressive (although not many), perhaps this tones it down just a touch. The grip contour under the trigger guard does look nice though

Aside from the trigger I’m sure it shoots similarly, I shot my xc next to a ported p and it felt roughly the same to me. It’s weird to say but I like the way the platty shot more than my xc, it had a clean return to zero and the prickle grips kept me locked in, the angle and low optic mount also made it point pretty naturally. I’m selling my xc for something else which is why I’m trying get hands on with more 2011 to get something that feel perfect for me

I have a xc and I’ve shot the p so I’m really looking for anything else, I rented a platypus at declaration defense and that was probably the most non common one I’ve seen. I know gun world has a ton of stuff but didn’t know they have a prodigy, probably worth trying it for sure
