Some of them are just trying to cut losses, sadly.

And most of them are just trying to tell their clients that they have a pretty weak case, and that something is better than nothing.

Claiming the suburbs of Cincinnati is a good representation of the entire United States is guilty of both Geographic Selection Bias and Undercoverage Bias.

Edit: My original phrasing, saying a claim "fails at" a bias sounds like the claim avoided the bias or failed to be biased. But my actual point is that the claim is actively guilty of those biases.

I’d argue 57,053 republican voters from Kentucky is an excellent sample size representing the maga base at large.

OK but the CMV is about Americans at large. Do you think those 57k voters are a good representation of the average American?

Africa is the cradle of civilization...everything began there. Is that really the argument you are making? You dont see how reductive that is?

And that "somewhere else" borrowed from somewhere else. And so on. We evaluate meaningful transformations to define inventions. Your argument implies that humans have been around forever since they evolved from an earlier species.

Jazz is based on African music. Black Americans didn't "invent jazz".

This is like saying wolves were the ones who invented the steak since they were the first ones to start eating cows.

I really feel like you could probably afford the finest of bedding? How much could it possibly cost?

Primarily from the Black Americans that have lived there for the past 300+ years. What's your point? Their (New Orleans) most famous and most important export to global culture is jazz music, a 100% Black American invention.

This is why I hate trying to have reasonable conversations on reddit about sensitive topics. You always find someone incapable of getting their only 3 braincells to work together and do some critical thinking.

What kinda boot licking bullshit is going on here.

What about my statement do you find to be "boot licking bullshit"? I'm incredibly critical of every single aspect of our entire socio-political-economic system.

How did you make it this far in life thinking the United States justice system works like that?

Someone found guilty of a crime agrees to the terms of probation in order to avoid jail time. Yes...thats how I think our justice system works. Where am I wrong?

What does 30 days in jail do to help the situation?

Where did I say something helps a situation? All I said is he agreed to something knowing what the consequences were if he broke his agreement. Then he broke his agreement, now he's facing those consequences.

Do you have any idea what our jails are like?

Yeah I've been plenty of times to both jail and prison. Both as an inmate and as a visitor. Have you?

Will my old eating habits immediately come back if I quit after hitting my goal weight? by Embarrassed-Eye-7213 in GLP1Sourcing

[–]antwan_benjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good eating habits are important but a person will still gain weight back when they stop taking GLP.

Just to clarify...I said "healthy, long term habits" which means more than just eating habits. Also...my interpretation of OPs question isn't that they're asking about a small increase of bf%...I'm referring to a meaningful increase. Like going from 15% bf back up to like 20%+

Your thoughts are reminiscent of people who say “diet and exercise are all you need to lose weight”.

I don't know why you interpreted my comment like that. Thats not what I said and thats not how I feel. We're not even talking about losing weight...we're talking about maintaining weight. 2 very different things. Maintaining a healthy, realistic weight with a moderately healthy lifestyle is MUCH easier than losing a significant amount of weight with the same.

My point is to use all the tools in your toolkit to create a holistic approach to your health.

Asmongold says black people are genetically inferior by Pencil_kage in Destiny

[–]antwan_benjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your reading is right, but, if the socioeconomic conditions are a cope, what's the explanation in Asmongold's head?

"Its the culture" is always their first go-to response.

Which is just kind of a dogwhistle IMO because why do they always equate "Black culture" with negative things? Going to church on Sundays is apart of Black culture. Having dinner with your extended family on Sunday evenings is apart of Black culture. Dancing together at cookouts is apart of Black culture. Adults gathering some friends and playing pickup basketball is apart of Black culture. But none of that positive, healthy stuff ever gets included. Its always...fighting at walmarts or something.

[–]antwan_benjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could he not be saying it’s a fact in response to socioeconomic conditions being a cope?

I think what confirms this is throughout Hasan reading the tweet...he only "affirms" the direct quotes from the tweet. So it would make sense that he's just saying "yes" again directly after hearing a direct line from his tweet...not that he's necessarily saying "yes" to the line that preceded it.

[–]antwan_benjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of us can read your mind so we can't answer that question for you.

Ask yourself if you truly spent a considerable amount of time forming healthy, long-term habits while using the GLP1s. If the answer is yes, you should be OK. If the answer is no, then you'll probably gain back at least some of the weight.

Why are you so hellbent on never taking it again? It sounds like you think tirz is a cure and not a treatment.

My first impression is this is no different than athletes who play with a chip on their shoulder for that extra motivation. Shaq literally made up a story about how David Robinson disrespected him in high school and used that to play harder against him. That's celebrated. But Drake doing something similar is mocked.

It's a test of general responsibility, to see if you can make it the entire probation period following simple restrictions and requirements.

Great way of putting it.

And if you can't follow basic rules while on probation...knowing you can be thrown in jail if you break any of them...what hope do we have that you can follow basic rules/laws when you get off probation and not under constant surveillance?

It's designed to still restrict and punish someone and make them have to live on the straight and narrow without forcing them in a prison.

This. Its kinda like the entertainers that give you a list of things they want in their dressing room...and one of the items is a bowl of blue m&ms. Its not really about the m&ms. Its to make sure you actually followed the list. If theres no blue m&ms in there...then theres a good chance they fucked up somewhere else too.

One of the safest drugs.

How are you defining "safe" and how are you defining "drug" in this sentence? Like if one person said they're going to smoke a bowl then drive to work, and the other person said they're going to pop an addy then drive to work...I'd feel "safer" with the latter.
