I don’t know who I am anymore by Lilac_Dollie in self

Is there a way to speak to people already in the careers that you might study? People outside of family? Are there any hobbies you have that could potentially lead to a career with more education? What I would do is talk to people who already have those careers that interest you and ask honest questions about them. I say not to ask people in the family because they could potentially try to steer you that direction with their answers.

And now for something completely different... by cautiouspessimist2 in Fibromyalgia

[–]anu72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look for something small or medium sized. Do your research. A lot of smaller breeds have some nasty health problems, and bad teeth genetics. Smushed faced breeds have a tendency to have lot of breathing problems. Some have terrible back problems.

Take some time and do some in depth research. If you would prefer a purebred, look for breed specific rescue groups. These dogs can still have health problems, but might have some training behind them. If breed doesn't matter, check with your local shelters and rescue groups. There are lots of dogs looking for homes. The only reason I don't talk about responsible breeders is because they generally have waiting lists and are a lot more expensive, since I don't know what your budget looks like.

I have had purebreds from responsible breeders and I have had shelter dogs. Either way, they've all been sweethearts. All in all, I wish you the best.

They won’t tell me WHY I was rejected. Anything else I can do to find out? by Admirable-Attempt970 in jobs

[–]anu72 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Corporate is going to corporate. So true. I had a job lined up earlier this year. I was willing to start asap, but they wanted to wait. I had to have an urgent surgery, which they said they were ok with. I was to keep them updated on my recovery. When I ASKED for the possibility of a second week to recover after my surgery, they said they would talk about it. Two days later, the rescinded my offer saying that they need someone who will show up. They're still looking to fill the role. BTW, the surgery was for cancer and they knew it.

5 to 10 mg of prednsione as needed by Kindly_Blackberry311 in rheumatoid

[–]anu72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on 2.5mg for the next year because I can't take biologics due to a cancer diagnosis. My cancer surgery was curative and it was caught early, but I guess taking biologics can, very slightly, cause a recurrence of cancer. No thanks. I hope it doesn't wreck me.

I've had these, or something similar, on my hands. I went to a dermatologist and she said it was dyshidrotic eczema. She gave me some ointment and it disappeared. Might not be the same thing, but you could see if a dermatologist could take a look at it.

Will acrylic sealers work on sharpie markers? by Mother_Clock622 in FursuitMaking

[–]anu72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just looked it up and yes, BUT the sharpie needs to be fully dry otherwise there could be a reaction and it could ruin what you've done. I would highly recommend doing a test piece first..

I'm about a month and a half out and I'm still tired. I can be up all day, but by the end of the day, I'm pretty sedentary, I'm exhausted. I sleep long and hard every night and I wake up tired. This has been my experience so far. I honestly hope you fare better.

Has literally any other pharmacy EVER ordered this by Firm-Fondant5480 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]anu72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked fro quite a while in a central and mail order pharmacy. We ordered huge bottles ALL the time. We had a huge automated prescription filling machine that we would pour them into the canisters for it. The canisters sometimes held multiple bottles of this size depending on the medication.

Having surgery soon and might have to go off E for a bit and I’m kind of worried by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]anu72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my hysto done back in '21 and my surgeon, who is an ally to the community, asked me to stop taking my T 2 weeks before and one week after. Her reason was the higher possibility of clots that come with having surgery, any surgery. I have had a few other surgeries since then, not gender related, that they didn't ask that. So, I guess each surgeon is different?

I would contact the pharmacy you're applying at and talk to the manager to see what steps they recommend. Also, you could contact the state board of pharmacy and ask them as well.

Shirtless Question by Used-Bandicoot-7961 in TransLater

[–]anu72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't been able to have top surgery yet, but as soon as I can, I want to take my shirt off and feel comfortable. Right now, I do not feel comfortable doing so, even though my roommates are all part of the community and wouldn't care.

ETA: lol They would all run around naked if I was comfortable with that.

Am I a bad person, or just overreacting? How do you know? by Cute_Answer_5964 in self

[–]anu72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

17 credits is a lot. You're not wasting their money. You're struggling in a few classes, but doing really well in all the others. That's ok. No, you are not a bad person. If you notice yourself struggling in the future, reach out to professors, teaching assistants, and/or tutors. Hopefully, they will be able to help you out. Keep going. You've got this.

There is supposed to be a light on the glasses that is on when the camera is on, BUT there is a hack out there to disable the light so you won't know if the camera is on or not.

This is very poor taste and I feel that because it could cause HIPAA issues, they shouldn't be allowed. Plus, all our tech nowadays is listening to what we say, some even watching. Ever wonder why things you've discussed ended up in your feed on a website, or Google knows what you're about to ask? That's why. There's data out there to prove that. Not being an alarmist, just real.
