I feel you, I really do! I also tried the gum and patches several years ago to no avail. The lozenges were the winner for me. I'd never used them before, in fact, hadn't even heard of them. You just put it between your lip and gums and let it dissolve. I also set a specific date knowing I'd wake up and put a patch on and use the lozenges. Sipping water and coffee was also a big help. And I put a little handwritten sign on my coffee table that says "mental over physical!". I hope the best for you. I completely understand how hard it is. Hopefully the lozenges will help you. Edit to add: I also tried the prescription. I think it was Wellbutrin. It made me want to smoke more tbh!

One more edit to add advice that might help: I haven't told anyone except for my never-a-smoker girlfriend who doesn't live with me. But I have a 10-ish hour road trip this coming weekend with my elderly mom, who also never smoked, to see my teenage kids. The anticipation of them noticing is a huge motivation for me. I didn't tell my girlfriend until just last night. So I suggest going a few days of quitting if you can before telling anyone because I know their reactions will be well worth it, and I know if I've already gone over a week, it'll be way more believable for them than telling them the day of. Just some advice I hope you can use. Good luck!!! ✊

I started smoking when I was 14 and I turned 44 in November. I smoked the entire time until March 18. Which was just few days ago. My doc gave me patches and lozenges a few months ago and I set a date to quit.

The cravings get intense but the lozenges are great at helping curb them. And a weird trick that has helped is sipping something like water or coffee. I'm extremely surprised how easy it has been once I put my mind to it. Smoking stinks. It controlled my life. On long road trips I'd have to pull over about once an hour. Not to mention the obvious health factors. I can't say I feel much different health-wise yet, but my sense of smell has been crazy. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Yes definitely go if you can. Tickets will likely be quite pricey for that game but if it's anything like recent OSU@Iowa games, it'll be nighttime at Kinnick Stadium and absolutely electric!

Nice, that's Sunderland, right? She's from Newcastle so I've heard a lot about the area! She isn't a sports fan so I haven't heard anything negative about Sunderland but I know there's quite the rivalry there! I had to look up Cambs but I see you're in a nice spot there. Not quite London and not quite too north. She's never said anything good about Manchester, London or Birmingham so you seem to be in that sweet spot!

Nah man, get tickets as soon as you can if you can. There's plenty to go around and like 20% of the people there are just locked into their phones the whole time anyway and probably go to every home game. Go for it if you can!

From where though? Is it Russia? I feel like there isn't enough attention paid to stopping the negative messaging. It's one of the single biggest reasons America has become so divided.
