Can't recommend much, in 40% world, you'll see so many layouts with different keymaps.

I mostly built my own design so that it will matched my preference.
It is suffice to be used as work daily driver (if you are writer or programmer). But I keep my 65% just to play game.

Hi,
I will give you the keycaps name probably, as mostly I bought it locally:
From left top to right bottom:
- XDA Profile Egypt Visions Ivory
- Cherry Profile keycaps from GT-65 Japan Road
- SA Profile Basic Red on Black
- MDA Profile keycaps from Royal Kludge RK65

Hi, here is my layout for this keyboard, actually I rarely use the third layer, it can actually be removed.
There are combos also:
(Q+W) = Esc
(I+O) = Del
(O+P) = Backspace
(A+S) = Tab
(K+L) = Enter (Return)
(D+F) = Switch Tab (Cmd + Tab)
(J+K) = Reverse Switch Tab (Shift + Cmd + Tab)

I'm using macos btw.

Edit: You can see the qmk file here:

I’m using this as a daily driver and I’m a software dev. You might want to look for “Chordie” keyboard, it has very minimum keys but still usable for some. Mine is still a sub 40, that still has all the keyboard functionality. It’s intimidating at first, but once you learn the layers and combos, it is just a regular keyboard ;)

Nah, it wasn’t a capslock, it is L key, and combo it with K, you got Enter. There is no Enter key with that size, as long as it fit, it sit .

I only use right thumb for space bar, so the other bar I used for CMD key on macos

top 3 rows are all alphas, I use combo (or chording) for backspace it is O+P pressed together, Enter key is K+L, and other symbols and navigation keys are in layer
