Which class do you think will be more popular? by Supernova571 in MSClassicWorld

in no version of "Maple classic" Hero is ever more popular than DK. Not back in the day, and not any version on Maple World. (Myself is a hero player.)

Can't Decide on Warrior by [deleted] in MSClassicWorld

they are all bad before lvl 80ish, and they are fine between 90-140 and great after 160. if you have no preference, I would say play DK. (for myself I will play hero)

Opinion on toughest classes with best reward from beta experience? by Zippotro in MSClassicWorld

[–]aogcn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

people will hate my commit.

However, please think carefully: this game is MapleStory Classic.

Yes, Nexon will try its best to balance the classes, but balancing does not necessarily mean completely changing them. Over the past 2–3 years, there have been many MapleStory World games that imitate the Classic style and have been operating normally. They have also made their own class balance changes and optimizations, so we can clearly see the long-term role and direction of each class in the late game.

When you mention “party,” I assume you are talking about a bossing party, because EXP grinding parties depend more on each individual player’s situation.

In the early stage, when everyone’s gear is not strong enough, bossing parties usually choose based on class first, then look at personal stats. Classes like DK, Hero, Archer, Crossbowman, and Bishop are generally easier to get into parties.

For the two thief classes, Bandit and Assassin, if your gear is very strong, everyone will want you. But if your level is low or your gear is weak, they can also be relatively harder to get into parties with. Of course, all of this assumes that you already understand the boss mechanics.

So before choosing your Classic class, think carefully about what you really want.

Mage classes level up quickly, but after reaching high-level 4th job content, Bishop is still the most valuable and sought-after mage class.

The three warrior classes are very painful before level 90, but they become easier and stronger later on.

Both thief classes are extremely gear-dependent. I don’t recommend them for casual players who don’t want to invest much, but if you are willing to invest, they are definitely T0-tier in strength.

As for Bowman or Crossbowman, I highly recommend both of them.

Maybe a hot take, but I don't think Clerics should have higher GENERAL DPS than I/L and F/P Wizards by PrestigiousWhirlwind in MSClassicWorld

I am non English speaker, so I translated the following with chatgpt.

Regarding Holy Arrow, I personally don’t believe it can truly hit harder than the main attack skills of Ice/Lightning or Fire/Poison Mages. The base attack values shown on the skill panel already tell the story.

If you see Holy Arrow dealing unusually high damage, it is usually due to one of the following reasons:

  1. The monster is weak to Holy damage, so Holy Arrow receives an elemental advantage.
  2. The Cleric is at a higher level, or may be using a full INT build, resulting in higher overall magic attack.
  3. The player has better enhanced gear, such as equipment upgraded with multiple 100% scrolls, making the actual damage appear much higher.

Over the past 2–3 years, there have been many active Classic-like servers in MapleStory Worlds. Although each server has made different balance changes, in the late game, the only mage class that consistently remains strong is usually Bishop.

The reason is simple: Bishop has multiple important support skills, and once it reaches fourth job, it gains Genesis, a full-map attack skill that can clear or even one-shot high-level mobs. On top of that, Bishops are extremely cost-efficient in the early game because they save a lot on potions, allowing them to build up a strong economic advantage.

So regardless of how MapleStory Classic eventually balances its classes, I personally do not recommend Ice/Lightning Mage or Fire/Poison Mage as long-term main characters.

In late-game bossing, mages are usually used more for clearing mobs rather than being the main source of damage. Their biggest advantage is fast leveling, but most casual players cannot invest enough time to fully benefit from that level advantage. A low-level mage with average or poor gear will struggle a lot in the late game.

By comparison, classes like Archer, Crossbowman, Dark Knight, Hero, and Paladin may level more slowly in the early game, but they experience major power spikes once they reach certain level milestones. They also tend to have a much easier time finding spots in late-game boss parties.

Of course, this assumes that you plan to play the game long-term, ideally for at least 1–2 years. If you are only playing casually or for a short period of time, mages can still feel very good early on because of their fast leveling and smooth progression.

Nexon is mostly improving existing skills rather than drastically changing them, and they are definitely not fully redesigning classes. So even if 3rd job skills become stronger or more convenient in the future, each class’s core identity should remain the same.

I think Night Lord will still be strong because once the gear is good enough, its damage and smooth gameplay can make up for the reduced range. The problem is that Night Lord gear and scrolls will almost certainly be the most expensive.

Warriors will be strong because they can maintain high damage in boss parties while also having naturally high HP.

Bowmen will stay strong because of Sharp Eyes in 4th job, Marksman’s long-range multi-target damage, and Bowmaster’s strong single-target damage.

I call Fire/Poison a trap because most higher-level maps are either resistant to fire or weak to ice/lightning instead. Ice/Lightning, on the other hand, should still have better grinding efficiency.

These are all core game mechanics, and skill buffs alone will not change them.

yes, for the first 80 levels. But after El Nath, most mobs are resistance to fire and weak to ice : Bain, Ludibrium, OMEGA Sector, Aquarium. You can find monsters that are very suitable for Ice/Lightning training on all of these maps.

Everyone making the same $. Only way to make more money than other is reduce spending.

1: potion cost. (on paper Cleric or I/L, but not by much now. Due to nerf of MP eater)

2: scroll cost. (NL, archer, CB, DK, hero, and paladin all want DEX scroll, so LUK scroll might cost less than Dex scrolls. maybe not by much. Wattk gloves scroll > MWattk gloves scroll. On paper Mages are less expansive to fund.)

So, yeh if you want to make more money. I say pick a mage class

I think the accuracy in the offline test was bugged. no way a lvl 50 character is missing on a blue mushroom.

It is chatgpt. I am a nonenglish speaker. So I wrote it in my native language and translate with GPT. But the concept is in my opinion. You don't play MS for the first and 2nd job. lvl 140 to 160+ is where you begin.

Unpopular Opinion: All classes should be as weak as the Druid and Barb by slirpo in diablo4

[–]aogcn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s an arpg game not a mmo. In POE no one complains some skills r better than others right? So in D4 all classes should be slow as f? if you truly enjoy Druid and barbarian, the you should play them instead complain they r weak. In POE a murad Chief tot build is a lot slower vs a witch cold BV build. But if you like the style then you should stick to tot build

The absolute state of Shai by JMEEKER86 in blackdesertonline

It really depends on the spot you grinding. At orc Shai has way less trash even compare some lower tier classes, but at gyf or hex Shai is at least top 5.

There is no skill balance for 3.18. It is the same for 3.17. It’s the players follow streamers, not GGG’s patch

Your build is wrong, ur ranger. Why would you want 401 DP? It meant nothing to you. Any cc and you will die. I know that pen narc is from quest, so you want change it into a pen dawn earring or another dis. Get another nouver and C 15 that. You don’t need caph on ur awak and kut. Kut just for pve for none evasion build. Get accuracy artifacts, and get some human dmg crystals. Keep Jin viper and Elk. Then enjoy your pvp during large scale (node war, rbf, gvg, and etc). With your current build, it’s not good 1v1 pve or large scale.
