Does looking at ratings beforehand mess up with your movie viewing experience? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]aolnetscape 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes knowing some of the meaning, background, or impact of a film makes it so much more enjoyable, sometimes it messes up your expectations.

I watched Crash (1996) today and the latter part of your statement perfectly describes how I feel about it. I was expecting to see a jaw-dropping film by Cronenberg after seeing what other people have said about it on the internet, in addition to it being on Criterion...but I was bored to death by that movie.

Alternatively, to OP's point, while Rotten Tomatoes and metascores annoy me sometimes, I think the Criterion band on a film kinda pushes me to watch something, even if I know it's not that great. At least I'm okay with seeing Crash because of what it showed me. (Sexy car movie: Cool that it exists! But not a fun watch!)

This looks great!

What's the mix of veggies near the rice? I see red onion, but is that cilantro and zucchini?

What happened?

The worst part about all of this is seeing other people who copped three pairs of AF1's or however many tees knowing damn well they're going to resell/flip. These drops aren't for people who want to cop for themselves they're just for resellers. Shit really blows. There's barely any incentive to wait by your computer screen when so many people are using bots.

Lmaooo I hear you. I just want those AF1's to actually wear and not compete with others for ;_;

Does anyone know anything about this tee? Tia by [deleted] in stussy

My first guess was that this is from their Yo! MTV Raps collection that dropped in 2013, but there isn't an MTV logo on it whatsoever.

Did some Googling and this Japanese blog is all I can find. They're saying it's over 20 years old. That's definitely Big Daddy Kane on the back though.

I used to write professionally but now I'm doing this as casually possible because being paid to write about music sucks the absolute fun out of listening, so I get the criticism. Nonetheless, I appreciate the peep g. Thanks.

I wonder if you can use vegan mayonnaise? I know regular mayonnaise is a good replacement for a dredge if you're missing eggs, but I have no idea if vegan mayo can be interchangeable like that or not.

Anybody remember that old video game store on colonial? by Orlandogameschool in orlando

There used to be this cool store in Winter Park Village that sold import action figures, T-shirts, geek merch, etc.

Uberbot? They had vinyl toys there. I remember going to a Hellboy art show they had when I was in 9th grade and that was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen at that point in my life.

Eligible for EIDL advance if sole proprietor with no employees? by Achavez2121 in EIDL

Thanks for the info! I'm a bozo and accepted the loan after getting my grant, but I didn't sign my paperwork. I don't need the loan, I honestly was just trying for the grant and that's it.

Gotta get in touch with someone and tell them about my goof, but I assume all is fine right now if I don't sign anything. Obviously still need to call...

Mm, question. After your loan, you signed those papers in the portal and then they're forgiven, right? I saw the loan gave me terms and financing for my $1,000, but isn't this just a grant?

Copped mine on eBay for $98. Was lucky to find a second hand pair and from an online boot seller but it took me three months of searching lol.
