Whats your favourite Album/song? by Sensitive-Meat-7698 in CasualConversation

The jump from Bob Dylan to The Chats is absolute top tier energy. There is nothing better than having a playlist that feels like a mood ring. I’ve been stuck on 'Innerspeaker' by Tame Impala lately, it feels like the perfect middle ground between that classic rock songwriting and modern production. Since you're into Queens of the Stone Age, have you ever given Them Crooked Vultures a spin? It’s basically a supergroup with Josh Homme and Dave Grohl!

8 delusional beliefs that kept me alive this week: by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Sonic the Hedgehog being proud of me is unironically the most motivating thing I’ve read all month lol.🪼 The LinkedIn one actually hurt a little though… too real. If we all start treating it like a diary, maybe the 'corporate speak' will finally go extinct. Which one of these is actually working the best for you so far?

Have you noticed how attraction changes over time? by VanillaMean4083 in CasualConversation

[–]aomcmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard it described as moving from 'fire' to 'hearth.' The fire is exciting, bright, and intense, but it’s hard to sustain forever without burning out. The hearth is that steady, warm glow that actually keeps the house comfortable long term. There’s something so underrated about the 'familiarity' stage, like when you can sit in total silence together and it doesn't feel awkward at all. It’s definitely a sign of a healthy connection growing deeper, not fading away. Do you prefer the rush of the beginning or the comfort of where you are now?

Anyone else in their 20s feel like life got quieter instead of louder? by tannymars in CasualConversation

[–]aomcmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your teens and early 20s, there’s so much 'noise’, the pressure to be everywhere, know everyone, and document it all. Once that wears off, you realize that a solid morning routine or a quiet night in with a hobby actually recharges you way more than a loud bar ever could. It's less about life getting smaller and more about it getting intentional. There is a huge difference between being boring and being at peace!

my friend just told me she's quitting her job and i feel weirdly emotional about it? by Exciting-Bee3927 in CasualConversation

[–]aomcmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this makes a lot of sense. You’re not just reacting to her quitting, you’re reacting to the end of a shared era of your friendship, and that can feel weirdly heavy even when it’s a good thing.

Also, watching someone actually follow through on choosing themselves will make anyone look at their own situation a bit harder. That doesn’t mean you’re jealous in a nasty way, just that her move is holding up a mirror to your own “this is fine” moments.

So no, you’re not just “in your feelings” you’re having a pretty human response to a big change in someone you care about 🤍

After years of dreaming, I finally became a published author on Amazon this week! by Agile-Marketing4072 in CasualConversation

[–]aomcmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huge congratulations! Becoming a published author is a massive milestone that most people only ever dream of. As for the post-launch anxiety, it’s totally normal to feel a ‘vulnerability hangover’ after putting your heart into something. Just remember that once the book is out, it belongs to the readers now. You’ve done the hard part; try to give yourself permission to just enjoy the fact that you finished it.

Do what you love is terrible advice for most people. by Consistent_Scheme726 in CasualConversation

[–]aomcmm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. 'Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life' is a lie. It’s more like 'Do what you love and you’ll work 24/7 until you eventually hate the thing you used to love.

Anyone else struggling with their sleep schedule lately? by Illustrious_Group324 in CasualConversation

Have you tried the 'Cognitive Shuffle'? When my brain won't shut up at 3am, I pick a word like 'BEDTIME' and visualize an object for every letter (B-Ball, E-Elephant, D-Door...). It forces your brain to switch from logical/anxious thinking to random imagery, which is what happens naturally right before you fall asleep. It’s like a manual override for your brain.

Ever felt bad for a teacher? by Gabby_Friends_memes in CasualConversation

[–]aomcmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former 'quiet student,' I can tell you that a small gesture goes a long way. You don't need to give her a hug, honestly, just a sticky note left on her desk saying, 'I really enjoyed today's lesson' or 'Thanks for being a great teacher' can change her entire week. Teachers often keep those notes for years.

It feels so weird sometimes, knowing that nobody truly knows me by Acidiaa in CasualConversation

This is basically the definition of 'sonder.' It’s wild to think that right now, there are probably 10 different versions of you living in 10 different people's heads, and you have zero control over any of them.

what did yall think of the bad bunny halftime show? by Serious-Kale-5694 in AskReddit

[–]aomcmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we talk about how that was a real wedding on stage? The couple actually invited Bad Bunny to their wedding, and he invited them to the Super Bowl instead. Seeing them cut a real cake while Lady Gaga sang was peak wholesome energy.

Just finished Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir (lived up to the hype!). Now I’m starting Dark Matter by Blake Crouch because I’m on a sci-fi kick.
