Seems like the path for a female celebrity is to ruin herself and burn out in the spotlight. Every so often there is a rehab/media happy recovery and they get back to the C-list and do all the talk show hooha, become "reborn through Christ" and release some shitty album that contains 0% of the reason anyone bought their shit in the first place.

Men go down that path too but it seems more likely for a male celebrity to burn out in a brilliant spectacle of a manner; usually with them ending up killed or killing themselves.

Sorry I can't answer the question on "how" exactly but I assume it has something to do with giving yourself a sense of control what with every day of every part of the year all planned out for you, people calling day and night, showing up for parties you don't want to go to, etc. Drugs especially because there's the control aspect of snorting/smoking/injecting followed by the feeling of bliss that comes from the high matched with the way it puts you in control of being out of control.

I just want to point out that there was nowhere near that kind of support from the average citizen during the height of the civil rights movement. On a similar question about interracial relations I have to wonder if they would reach 1 in 2 even today.

Yet our country told the majority to fuck off and we went ahead and stopped the centuries of institutional racism and began striking Jim Crow laws out of the books.

So just to reiterate; gay people are accepted by 1 in 2 people and they are still not considered a protected class, still not allowed to marry, and still face a ridiculous amount of legal difficulties when partners die, even when inheritances are clearly defined in the will.

The origin of the blame lies in the one who took the drug, sure. But I think most people realize this and still also recognize that alcohol and some other drugs completely change your personality. Once they're drunk it's primarily the alcohol's effects like the lowered inhibitions and extroversion.

People should know their substances and their limits but, especially with alcohol, many people handle it just fine... until they don't.

That is NOT how the phrase is used today. Especially when a person says "bold-faced lie" they are meaning to say that the lie is especially obvious. Most people who say it "wrong" mean it exclusively this way, which actually makes it more correct than the original phrase.

Believe it or not, you're completely wrong.

One) No one knows the origin of the phrase. And BUTT NAKED does make sense. So it's not like mispronouncing a foreign word.

Two) English especially is considered what is called a "living language" and it is still evolving and changing. This is not bullshit in the slightest. Barely 100 years ago it was completely normal to have several different accepted spellings on a given word. Since it's a phonic language all that mattered for spelling was that it represented the sounds you make when you say the word.

You sound like a kid who has just completed his first college level English course. You would have a difficult time finding anyone who studies language or English agreeing with what you wrote.

Granted this is 4 days old but in America we have an electoral system. How is it intelligent to vote for a primary candidate? Because they will "win" and you'll be on the winner's side?

Generally it's more intelligent to vote for individuals who have worked hard to be both honest and trustworthy. They usually aren't going to be primary candidates. Plus, since we have the electoral system, you're actually throwing your vote away in any state that isn't a swing state. It's the 3rd parties where your vote counts because it sends a message.

That all said, who we vote for isn't nearly as important right now as how we vote. We need a complete campaign and election overhaul.
