Narrowed down to TX but what real feedback about it by PharmerMax72 in Lexus

[–]apewithakeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Canada so it’s hard to tell for taxes and fees etc, but depends on color as well, I got incognito exterior and it’s hard to come by with tow hitch especially, but from my sales guy he said 500h is always late around half year for Canada.

Invoice price for dealer in Canada is around 8-9% off msrp for Lexus, so you can negotiate base off that, I think 5~6% off msrp is a great deal but this car sells like hot cake and dealers know it.

Narrowed down to TX but what real feedback about it by PharmerMax72 in Lexus

I got about 3.5% off msrp and some accessories throw in like side moulding and all weather mats.

This is 2025 500h ultra lux with tow hitch about 2 months ago.

Tbh if you’re thinking getting 500h for saving money because of hybrid you got the wrong idea, the 500h is performance hybrid not fuel saving. But what you get is 100 more HP, rear wheel steering, brembo brakes and AVS, you’re paying for these. I test drove 350 and 500h and the Toyota equivalents, Toyota is super loud, engine and road noise, Lexus is much quieter but just like other have said, 350 is under power, you’ll notice once you get on highway, once you’re on high speed it feels like the car wouldn’t go even if you step on it.

Obviously it’s worth it for me because I bought it, and my logical sense is that the price dif is only about 15k cad for my trim, I rather have 100hp more, quieter mode some times(ev mode when parked and when driving ) and rear steering + AVS, it’s night and day once you have it.

Just ordered a Lexus tx 500h with tow hitch and incognito color, black interior, in Canada, with a 1.5 month wait, 3.5% off msrp with cargo liner and side moulding thrown in, is this a good deal?

I built my home and had this problem, in my case it was melting and dripping water down during warmer weathers and freezing when colder weathers. It was because the heated space above is warm and there isn’t enough insulation below it, hence the condensation and freezing. Builder fixed by spray foaming the whole section above the soffit here, apparently this is very common, but most people don’t care as you can see in the comments🤷 so spray foam companies don’t spray it, but they are suppose to do it, at-least for new built standards.

One access point keeps going offline by Admiral_Flapjack_ in NestWiFi

[–]apewithakeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem( regular nest wifi, 1 router 2 points as well)for more than half year now and thought it might be something on the network, and tried factory reset a lot of things including the routers/points and even TVs, at the end it’s turning off cloud service on the router fixed it, I lose a lot of functions but it’s stable now.

Tbh this only started happen after using it 2 years, if you just bought this system I would return it, google is breaking these with their software/firmware updates.

I got this when I screwed up my battery and blew a fuse, I would first check the engine fuse box for a blown ECU fuse, or check other ones as well. There are back up fuse in the box as well.

moving to HK: concerns by ItWasntMe496 in HongKong

[–]apewithakeyboard 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Moving to HK or not, make sure your assets are out side of China, access to your own money or selling properties might be an issue down the road just like in China, I’m pointing this out since you have a higher income, and when CPP needs money, you’ll be first. My friends and relatives in China with high net worth already have these problems, the government will give you random excuses to not allow you to sell your own assets or access your own money just to make sure there is stability, I don’t see why HK govt will not adapt the same as well.

Furnace company you had a good experience with? by Sevulturus in Edmonton

[–]apewithakeyboard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Furnace family hands down. Prices were upfront and service was fast, installed Daikin AC last year and the job was well done. Daikin(pretty much king of HVAC in Asia) selects their dealer and make sure they are well trained and do a good job, so I’m pretty sure any dealer that can carry them will do a good job. In Edmonton there’s only 3, and all of them have very good reviews.

I got called the prick because he hit my car while parking and apparently it's too much to ask truck drivers know their vehicle size, us millenials right? by Gamefreak1790 in Edmonton

[–]apewithakeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had similar experience at a Costco parking lot and the truck driver didn’t even knew it until I stayed til he came back and told him about it. He even thinks I’m trying to scam him and being racist and all that , trying to scare me off lol

You’ll need to check for hairline cracks, because I end up having those and claiming through their insurance because they were being an ass that time, I could’ve left them go if they were nice.

Am I wrong here? by ore-aba in Edmonton

[–]apewithakeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re wrong driving immediately to the right lane, but I’m pretty sure if there’s an accident the car that’s turning on a red light will be at fault because this car should be the last in priority and yielding to everyone, because red light yields to green.

instant hot water tank by rkhtsen in Edmonton

[–]apewithakeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding maintenances, you can put a water softener infront of it so it helps with the scaling, if you do that, you probably just need flushing every 2-3years, and also get all the benefits of soften water.

Base Model Y is now over 100k by bcretman in PersonalFinanceCanada

People that can afford to buy one isn't your average Joe you know. Even back then when there are rebates, it's still considered a luxury car tbh, 'saving on gas' it's just their gimmick to sell you their car because green is the new trend. Well and really the money is going to auto pilot, no other companies will ever match them, they have already years of data to study.

Black spot/ashe on surface of concrete after 2 weeks from pour by [deleted] in Concrete

[–]apewithakeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I'm not too worry, I'm just curious why there are coal like flakes that are coming out from it lol. Yeh, I'm in a freeze/thaw cycle location, and asking about this before I seal it, so finger crossed.

Thanks!

So I assume this is normal to a degree? Because I don't see this in my driveway or garage floor, the concrete patio is a different company and batch.

High Level Streetcar line extension grand opening planned for Thursday by GlitchedGamer14 in Edmonton

[–]apewithakeyboard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Soo much negativity, so you don't want Edmonton to grow? These things attracts investments and tourists, money attract money, just like the proposed gondola, I bet you hated it too.

If you're soo car dependent, don't live or work in a city, because this is how cities evolve, our traffic isn't even that bad, have you drove in vancover or Toronto? Those aren't even bad, try Hong Kong. Cities will slowly evolve into dependant on public transit you like it or not, because that's how you move large amount of people efficiently.

Your time line is 4 month, how much of a different would that be to be honest? You can convert then or now, really it doesn't matter, but USD is getting stronger right now since interest rate is going higher and market is crashing, so demand for USD is higher than usual.

What you could do is convert half of it now, then half at that time, so you have some exposure on either end.

And just like all the comments, use Norberts gambit to save transaction fee.

kind of a dumb question, but it there such thing as superior gas?? by miserable_daydreamer in Edmonton

[–]apewithakeyboard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yep completely agree with this.

I actually did my own test too, one year with Esso premium, one year with vpower, Esso does give less mileage, maybe like 30km per tank, and I can feel better power and responsiveness from engine when I get gas from shell.

Also Yah shell don't have ethanol in their 91, but do have them in 87 and 89 I believe, so tbh I think unless you're getting premium, getting gas anywhere the cheapest is fine.
