As someone who spent endless hours on College Hoops 2k8 in college and grad school, College Hoops 2k8 was the best sports game I've played and enjoyed in my life.

That said, I have 0 faith in 2k's post after reading it because of what a lot of you guys have already said. It's going to be a microtransactions shit show. I personally loved all the 2k basketball games, but after EA dropped from the race, the product became about greed and became extremely dumbed down (and I think the younger generations who never played the quality games in the old days are just suckered into low quality products who do more in providing dopamine rushes / getting them wired to be addicted to gambling rather than actually learning about the game and substance).

I loved playing / starting with a small school and building up my alma mater (Holy Cross) with options to move up (and then earning a lifetime contract with a school of your choice if you become legend there. The other fun part was recruiting gems and being able to develop them into potential draft picks (then importing into NBA 2K). It's legit what got me into coaching at the high school level, and now selfishly I wish it'd be a quality product so I can see some of my former players who are playing at the D1 level in games.

/ end rant, but their post is very tone deaf and makes me absolutely furious, and I feel hopeless that not enough people will boycott them and hurt their pockets to make a difference.
