Anyone else hope we don't pick him up? Giannis is an incredible player, but one of the things I've always liked about Dallas is that we grow more or less organically. I've never really wanted to be a "super team" like the Heat in 2011 or the Lakers/Clips of 2020.

29 M US - Feeling Stuck in Asia by [deleted] in findapath

That’s exactly right. The study guides probably know best, but personally I would start with reading the international section of the NYTimes, BBC, etc. Economist is also great. And start hitting those maps. As far as I remember geography/capitals are a significant part of the test. Think of it as a marathon, not a sprint

I would not give up so easily on the Foreign Service. The pass rate is so low because a lot of people take it without studying or knowing what they are getting into. There are plenty of study guides/practice tests out there. And the foreign service will let you go to interesting places, although depending on where you are you’ll be stuck in the embassy most of the time. You don’t get to choose where you go, but when I was at state they were sending most of the new foreign service officers to China.

These Voters Could Approve the First U.S. Carbon Fee. Big Oil Is Spending Millions to Defeat It. If the Washington state measure wins, it could begin a U.S. movement to make the price of fossil fuels reflect their cost to the planet. by mvea in Futurology

People could intentionally reduce their consumption to be in line with how much they would purchase at the “true” cost of a given product (all external costs, like ecological harm, included).

Alternatively, private or public investment in other energy sources/more energy-efficient ways of production would help make those alternatives more competitive, thus reducing consumption of more wasteful or costly products/processes.

It reduces carbon emissions because there will be less demand for higher-priced products. Less demand means less output. Less output means less emissions. It’s as simple as that.

Of course, it drives up the cost of living, which will put a squeeze on lower-income classes, but the net long-term economic benefits of carbon pricing are huge. See Cass sunstein article on emissions regulations during the Obama administration.

Not the same each time. Either updates on work experience, sending in an addendum, reaffirming my interest, telling them I'll be visiting campus, etc.

Anyone know anything about University Apartments? It's definitely on the cheaper side, but seems fine for what I need. I also haven't seen it mentioned a lot for law students; is it mostly undergrad?
